Bruces Lehaman Bros. "Joke"

Anyone else think Bruces Lehman Bros. "joke" was in poor taste. It wasnt just rich bankers who lost their jobs... over 5,000 laid off, bound to be a fair few support staff, cleaners, it staff etc.

I would imagine being reminded about their situation during a light entertainment show was the last thing they would want or expect.

Bad taste all round imho

Didn't mind at all. Hadn't even heard of them till this week anyway, and that's what black humour is. A lot of comedy deals with the down side of life.

PCness has meant that there is precious little that comics can joke about now anyway.

Perhaps they should just dispense with Brucie and have a recorded voiceover...

No I thought it was rather funny - I'm interested as to why you aren't offended by the XL joke as well?

I also think the XL one was bad taste as well, but the Lehman one was said second so that was stuck in my mind when makng the post.

ALL of Bruce's jokes are crap, poorly timed, unfunny and cringeworthy.

I thought it was one of his better ones.

It was satire - a comment on the news of the day.

I obviously totally missed that one...

I think I tune out mentally when he's talking.

I never thought i'd hear of anyone being offended by a Bruce Forsyth joke.I guess there is always a first.

not offensive, it was a weak attempt at political satire.

Really PC has gone too far if you can't joke about current affairs now!

So by this logic ALL jokes are wrong, as most jokes are about social grouping of people or situations

Maybe Frankie could take over from Bruce next series...now that WOULD make the jokes on the show more, erm, "interesting"

Haha who doesn't love Frankie? No one would watch the dances, they'd be too busy laughing manically.

As long as Frankie doesn't share the views of his sometime co-panelist/opponent David Mitchell. I remember DM making a comment on WILTY about the pointlessness of dancing round and round a room in the same direction as everyone else. Somehow suspect DM's not a fan of SCD!

Which would make it even funnier if he was a contestant! Get Robert Webb on too, and the guy who plays Super Hans, and it'd be perfect.

But isn't that part of SCD's charm...and every now and then Brucie does come out with a good joke.

I feel sorry for the airline staff who have lost their jobs and the people who have lost their holidays. I think that "joke" was in incredibly bad taste to be honest.
