Yes, it was a contradiction. It was meant to be because I wanted to point out that for SOME people a person being gay (or straight for that matter) would spoil the illusion and therefore the fantasy. For others, it just doesn't matter.

Well no it doesn't matter, in fact hardly anything on TV really matters, but that doesn't mean we don't want to know stuff, whether it matters or not!
If Mark Foster is gay, then yeah I do want to know, I'm a gay man and I love it when some celebrity or other comes out, or there are rumours about them being gay. What's wrong with that??

You may want to know - but if the gay man (or woman) in question (whoever that may be) does not want his/her sexuality brought into the public domain, then privacy is their prerogative.

There are those who are happy to discuss their sexuality and personal lives - and that of course is entirely different, but no one has a right to probe just because ''they want to know.' Nor do gay men and/or women have have the right to demand that those they suspect of being gay come out. When it comes to sexuality no one owes any one anything - except respect.
