For me it would have to be salt & vinegar Bones. A black packet with a skull & crossbones on it and some dodgy pirate skullduggery. I ate a bag a day as a lad in the 70s
![]() Also, anyone remember the beef flavoured crisps that had a monk on the bag? Oh man I loved them. Wish I had a Tardis so I could go back to 70s crisp heaven. ![]() Anyone remember Rancheros? They had a pork and bean flavour. |

Space Raiders is still on the go as I just had them, as is Highlander Crisps. Fish 'n' Chips were but this was several years ago now.
For me, I'd like Piglets. They were little hollow pig shapes. My mum bought me an entire box of Bacon & Bean flavour one time. Sky Divers too, I think they were called, they were good. |

Aye, I usually wait for Morrisons to have them on 2-4-1. I think it works out at 30 packs for £1.10

I remember the monk crisps AND the ads.... it used to be cartoons of monks stirring the big vats ... and I think the selling point they were trying to make is that they were made by hand ! They were yummy
. And you are spot on - they were incredibly yummy!

Going way back - XL Beef Barbecue crisps. I used to have them every day in a baguette with a bit of spam amd marge in from the local corner shop. We were so diet conscious then!
Don't know about the crisps with the monk on the packet. I worked at the Tudor crisp factory one summer when I was a student. I used to spend 8 hours counting 48 bags of crisps into a box! I remember Tudor crisps, liked their Steak and Onion, nice flavour, not too oniony. Could never recall who made those crisps, thanks for the reminder.

Slightly off topic but can you still get Brannigan's Beer Nuts?
I loved them. I remember doing a search about a year back and the most relevant site I could find was a US company selling Beer Nuts but I wasn't sure if they were the same type. |

Does anyone remember Tudor crisps?
I grew up in the North-east and moved to Coventry to go to Uni in 1977. I never saw them down here. Either that or they went bust/got taken over at the same time. |

Sorry if these have already been mentioned. I have no idea what they're called though. they were REALLY thin tubes from what I remember, pretty sure I loved their salt and vinegar flavour the most.
I may be imagining them though.

Wheat Crunchies maybe? They were tubular. Still available I think.
I'm probably going back around 15-20 years here. |

Amazing that so many people remember the Tudor crisps, and in particular the curry ones. They bloody stank!!
but tasted wonderful. I too used to crush them up.So were they actually a North-East company then? I remember they were the crisps that every shop had growing up in Sunderland. Them and Benson's XL, which weren't as good but a bit cheaper. Does anyone remember Richmond crisps as well? They were the mega-budget ones, about 2 or 3 pence cheaper than the Bensons and cheaper still than Tudor, but they did a good range of Worcester sauce crisps (and later on Tomato Ketchup). The only crisp company I like these days are Seabrooks. |

Like many others, I too wish that the little Fish N' Chips could make a comeback.
I can still recall the smell, taste and texture of them! |
