Best year ever?
Does anyone else think that this year has the potential to be the best year ever? After last year, I was pretty much certain that we had found everyone we were gonna that could be half decent, but this year the standard has been outstanding. Collectively, I'd say Series Two was of the highest standard, but if the right people are chosen this year I think it could become the most talented set of contestants we've had yet. While the boys may not be as good as previous years, the groups + the girls have been outstanding, and even the oldies to a degree have been probably the best yet.
Anyone agree? |

I'm not sure. I don't think that series 4 can be topped. It was nice to see that it wasn't a one horse race, as some people thought. The final was fantastic! It was more exciting then when Leona won, as Leona was obviously so far ahead of Ray. Loved it when Shayne won, though

Last year was my favourite year as it was the first time I actually cared who won.

The girls are really strong this year. Off the top of my head, I can list both the Alexandras, Diana, Amy, Joelle, Laura and Hannah as potential winners. Rachel's amazing too, but if she gets through, she'll be in the 25+ right?
For me, series 3 was my favourite because I just loved Leona. But she was such an obvious winner, the final lacked excitement. I think series 2 has been the best in terms of all round talent. |

Series 2 and 3 were brilliant and my favourites. This year could be great too but it all depends if the judges pick a great top 12.

yep this year is the best year, loved series 3 due to leona, but wasnt that fussed about most of the other contestants. This year they seem to have the most relevant contestants and interesting ones.

![]() As for this year, it's showing promise. I think it could be very good, but we'll need to see what happens. |

I only think the girls category will be any good this year.
The Boys will be poor, and so will the groups. The over 25's will only stand a chance if Rachel represents them. |

Series 4 was average at best. Same Difference were entertaining and Hope were controversial. Rhydian was pretty good but apart from that, none of them were anything special and there were alot of dullards in the early weeks like Futureproof, Andy and Emily (until she got kicked out).
Series 3 had one extraordinary talent in Leona. Ben was pretty good at times. Series 2 was the best. It had 3 really good finalists in Journey South, Shayne Ward and Andy Abraham. Brenda was really good as well and for the final 4, anyone could have gone at anytime. Chico provided great entertainment and Maria was pretty good as well, albeit she has been totally overhyped since then. But she contributed to the infamous night of the Irish Mafia, which was brilliant! This year, I'm not so sure. The young girls seem pretty good, but the guys don't have much. The 25+'s have nothing apart from Rachel. There might be potential in the groups but alot depends on what happens with them from here on and they haven't been up to much in the past. |

I agree that series 4 had too many mediocre acts, and it was made worse by the dancing. If they had been able to spend their time rehearsing singing instead of dancing, the result would have been better.

Series 4 was the worst overall IMO. Bar about 4 acts , they all were either awful or just plain boring.
Series 2 was overall the best but JS should have won that year

My favourite was series 3 closely followed by 2
Last year seemed rather flat by comparison so I hope this year will be better

Well looking at the spoilers.....this year could be as bad as last year
I really enjoyed series 1,2 and 3. Series 3 is my favorite because of Leona, she was just excellent every week and she had no sob story!

I enjoyed the first series the most as there were 3 o 4 people I really liked but last year was the only year I really cared who won and the final was really exciting (although it didn't have my preferred outcome!)
I think it's too soon to say whether this series has got the best ever talent as (even though I have looked at the spoilers) I don't think you can really get to know how good a contestant is until the live shows. |

Series 4 was VERY bad IMO. Rhydian was the one person out of the final 12 that had talent, followed by Alisha. (Leon's come along well by the way! Not being nasty towards him
)Series 3 on the other hand... you have a whole different story. Leona blew me away every single week. And the final was amazing
