The 626 has a 30,000:1 DCR and the 656 has a 50,000:1 DCR. This number means nothing however, but it seems the 626 has the same panel as the 5 series which is matte, wheras the 656 has the 'super-clear' glossy panel. You would probably be better of getting the 5 series than the 626 unless you want smooth 24p playback really badly.
