M&S dropping their food adverts.

The adverts we now as M&S "it not just food it's M&S food" campaign is to be dropped.

David Jason and some other celebrities are to appear in them instead.

I'm glad, those adverts do my head in anyway!! The food in the shops looks awful compared to the adverts!

Is it nice? I have to admit (and it could just be my local M&S) because it's always such a mess I've never bought their food.

I only buy the ready meals from M&S and then only if I happen to be in the store clothes shopping.
I would never purposely go there for a food shop.

I HATE those ads, so I am very happy about that.
Also, not that impressed by their ready meals !

In my experience, all M&S food is top drawer. We get all or Christmas goodies from there. The turkey's are awesome....
*Note to self - get saving for a M&S turkey and all the trimmings, which will no doubt cost a bit more this year!*

I actually liked the other adverts more than the current del boy ones.

I agree with the turkey and trimmings thing, but their ready meals in general (mind you I have a downer on most ready meals) are overpriced, under flavoured and over salted - in my opinion.

Their pies are nice but I don't think much of their sausage rolls or pasties.

Hmm, I am not sure Inspector Frost is quite the right image.

On the whole I find M&S ready meals better than most others, turkeys are very good too.

I suppose though, celebrity sells, and perhaps they werent doign as well as sainsuburys, tesco and morrisons

It was a superb ad campaign, the catchphrase has entered the language.

There's some very good spoofs on You tube as well, this is my favourite.

Can't really say i'm too surprised. Their food is Over-Rated, and definitely Over-Priced Gook.

Much prefer the Tesco Finest range.

So true.

Are the ads going to be like the Morrisons ads now??

I love their ready meals but don't buy them very often as I'm on a massive economy drive

I find Waitrose food to be much nicer than M&S food.

Prices are going up as it is, I object to having to pay even more to line the pockets of celebrities which all the major supermarkets seem to be doing at the moment.

I agree, my hubby told me that he read somewhere that Richard Hammond got 700k for his Morrison's advert!!! talk about greedy, I nearly fell off my chair

According to The Telegraph it was £750k, for four days filming. That's beyond obscene.

Don't they always do their big ad campaign for Christmas, with all their celebs.

So do I.

Also the ads were really done to death and were really old hat.

I do like their Christmas ads though as a rule I do not shop in M & S!

Oh I do like their shortbread biscuits though!

I don't think there's a Waitrose within a 150 mile radius of my house. I've never been in one either

lol that's funny. A lot of the Tesco stuff and the M&S stuff is exactly the same, even made in the same place.

Used to buy a lot of MS food, but I think the quality has gone down hill quite a lot lately.
