Is this the worst CD ever released?
Magic AM radio is currently full of adverts for this CD. At first I thought it was a joke, but they are genuinely hoping that people will pay £7 for this.
In the list of clips, first check out Coronation Street, other horrors include Grandstand, Emmerdale and Fawlty Towers. Fawlty Towers sounds like someone who's got one of those Casio keyboards for Christmas and is following a 'how to play' book. There is a lot of debate on these forums about 'best' and 'worst' music, one person will think that Green Day is the best band in the world, the next will rather stick pins in their eyes than listen to them. I have though, I think, finally discovered a CD that absolutely no-one will like! Great Christmas present for people you hate, maybe that's the idea. |

You weren't around when the only chart compilations were on the 'Music For Pleasure' label then ? You could listen to all the latest hits , except they weren't the original artists - just [most of the time) session musicians doing a really bad attempt at trying to sound like the originals ,and they were bloody awful! This was in the days before karaoke and tribute bands too. People actually used to buy them as it was the only way you could purchase a package of all the chart hits , and the albums often got in the charts themselves .They were released on a regular basis in the 70s , then came along a better label - K-Tel with the real artists , which was a forerunner to the successful 'Now' series.

My wife and I collect various "Traditional Christmas" style compilation CDs. But there was one that we just had to put on eBay, it was that dreadful...

I've often thought it would be a laugh to start a band that only does covers of TV theme tunes.
Anyone want to join my band? |

I've seen (and heard, sadly) "not by the original artist" stuff in pound-stretcher kind of shops. The pound-stretcher in Letchworth is a real coot for that!

I bought this a couple of years ago:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sports-Theme...2352514&sr=1-1 It sounds just as dreadful as the one that started this thread - in fact I'd go as far as to suggest that the New World Orchestra and the London Theatre Orchestra are the same bloke with the same Casio keyboard. I could do a better version of the snooker theme myself. |

Anyone want to join my band? There's no situation which can't be improved by hearing the theme tune to Dad's Army or Match Of The Day. |

It's very handy if you put together pub quizzes and the like.

I was in Woolworths today, and they were charging extortionate prices for it.
Still, you can't beat a bit of 'Liberty Bell'.

It could be useful. If you have people on the phone or at the door and you want them to leave, just bung on the CD and say you've got to go as your favourite show is on...
