I'm in the process of repositioning the projector screen on the wall due to a new ceiling mount.

The screen I have has a thin black boarders to the sides and bottom, on the top there is about a 12 inch boarder. The way I have it fitted at the moment is when it's pulled down to the desired level all the boarders are the same size.

What I would like to know is, is there any advantage to positioning the screen higher so that more of the black boarder is showing when viewing.

The only thing I can think of is - The casing is white, if more of the black boarder was showing at the top this would cut down on the light being reflected of the casing from the image being projected.

Or is it just to give a little flexibility when fixing the screen, where you can have it higher on the wall so it's not so intrusive?

The top border is bigger so you can adjust the screen drop for different ceiling heights.

One of the the golden rules with projector & screen installs is to get the projector level and at the correct height so you don't need any keystone correction at all. You then adjust the screen drop so that the projected image is perfectly framed.

Cheers - All sorted, a perfect install like before. Kept top boarder the same size as the rest when the screen is pulled down into position. Looks better that way IMO.

No keystone correction, image fits perfectly all round, very little zoom needed and just added +1 on the overscan
