...looks really bad. Why would she suddenly move away without her husband Patrick? Just for a job? Doesn't make any sense at all. And according to the spoilers,

Spoiler

Does this mean Patrick will eventually leave too? I don't see him lasting too long without her and probably will soon get the axe as well.

It's a really weak exit. Angela Wynter has been on the show for five years and deserves better than this; off screen for months and then a rushed exit story sandwiched inbetween yet more Max/Tanya/Jack/Stacey/Bradley rubbish. Even killing her off would make more sense than this.

If Rudolph is axed, ALOT of people are going to be pissed off. Yolande shouldn't be going anyway - I truly am disgusted with the producers decisions to axe her when we have the likes of Darren, Callum, Danielle and Jack on the show.

This sounds like perhaps the best soap exit ever, well done Diedrick.

It's absolutely mental. How on earth can they think Darren, Callum, Danielle, Jack, Gary Hobbs and even Billy Mitchell are better than Yolande?

Yolande had loads of potential but the writers blew it. They've totally wasted her. Shameful.

I've never been a Yolande fan, and her character seemed to change a bit a while back then return to how she was. Although I don't like the character, I think the way she is leaving is really poor. They announced her axing a while ago now, in that time, couldn't they have thought of a better exit for her? Not that I think she'd ever leave Patrick in the first place but still, if they're going to axe Yolande they have to axe Patrick because they've had their ups and downs over the years so why would Yolande leave Patrick over something petty, which, if you think about it is just somebody forgetting to put a plug into a socket. I know Yolande will bring up other stuff that has happened in the past as well in regards to her decision to leave: Patrick's affair etc but they've worked past it and it's forgotten - so why use it as an excuse now to justify leaving over a plug? And how old is Yolande? She's a shop keeper for gods sake who would offer her a job at her age and with her experience/qualifications etc? She's not a young high flier straight out of university or a chairman of the board at a multinational company. I doubt she'll get any more out of this job than her current one so where is her motivation to go? Oh yes that's right, Patrick and the plug

The thing with Yolande and Patrick is that they are not really linked to anyone else on the square anymore, they had that thing where they were linked to the foxes for a while, but now the foxes aren't linked to the wicks anymore, they've lost their dramatic purpose also. Basically you can attribute the lack of storylines for Yolande and patrick directly down to the death of Kevin and the unfortunate off screen health problems of Jim Branning.

How true. I am more annoyed about Angela's exit. Yolande is a truely established character who will be missed when she's written out. Saying that, even Wendy Richard's exit at Christmas 2006 was poor.

Sure jim's health problems is a factor but I fail to see how the wicks not being around somehow means the fox/trueman union needs to vanish..Are you forgetting how they got together in the first place..He could have easily carried on playing the role of surrogate father (for denise) But even the foxes arent on screen these days so that is the real problem..The over usage of the branings/beales/mitchells

I think Yolande would be better being killed off, just to have something interesting happen for a few of the older residents - eg, Patrick losing a wife, Dot loosing yet another good friend.

The curse of Dot! Everyone is going to realise she's secretly a serial killer on the square. She kills people slowly and surely after they spend years breathing in her cigarette smoke!

Couldn't have put it better myself. Yolande had so much more to offer to EE yet the producers NEVER gave her a chance.

Patrick will be a lost cause now. Not having Yolande and Jim on the show will make look like a spare part. If anything, the producers should seriously reconsider bringing Angela Wynter back. The comments she made after her axing were not malicious; she was simply saying how it is and didn't actually criticise the show. Her comments were more political than anything else.

I completely agree with what everyone else has said - Yolande's exit was disgusting. She was a liked and well established character of five years - RARE for a soap these days.

The character could have went in so many ways, but like SO many potentially great EE characters, she was ignored for years, and then the writers "solved" this by writing her out, rather than deciding she had been ignored too long and given some decent storylines.

This is a mistake EE have made NON stop for as long as I can remember. Why do they keep doing this? Don't bring in characters if you aren't going to use them EE!! And DON'T get rid of characters just because you haven't really used them yet. What kind of insane logic is that?! She had five years of being established - that's five years of investment from BOTH the BBC and us as viewers. Now we all have to start all over again with a new character, who we may not even like (it's no secret many of us don't like several of the newcomers), while at the same time being annoyed at an old favourite being written out to make room for them. So it's a double blow.

Stupid, stupid rationale on the part of the EE producers.

It's very telling that Patrick hasn't been used since she left so this hasn't even opened up any new storylines for him. It was the same for Keith when Rosie left. Mad.

I Agree, I didn't even think Yolande should of gone. She could have just been on of those on the square that just had an ordinary quite life like Garry and Minty.

More people leaving too.

Spoiler

I have to say that Yolande was not one of the most trilling characters on EE, but I still would have liked her to stay, the scriptwriters should have tried harder with proper storys for her.

In her place, they should have gotten rid of other characters who have been there taking up space but offering nothing. Unfortunately, most of my choices are recent additions..

There is also huge talk of Tanya leaving

apparently, Jo Joyner is unhappy with the way the character of Tanya is going.
