a bit of help needed please I have always been a Panasonic
type of guy, But I need a Sony DVD recorder preferably with a Hard drive, with a HDMI output but NO freeview,

Is there such a model, Not bothered about the Size of the HDD, just want it to test the I link function from a Sony LCD

i-Link from a Sony TV? The i-Link is usually used for a Camcorder DV connection to a Sony Recorder.

Are you confusing with Bravia Theatre Sync through the HDMI or Smartlink through the Scart connection?

All the Sony RDR-HXD series have digital tuners, DVD and hard drive recording.
