LCD Sound

Hello,

We're looking to buy an LCD TV for our lounge. We currently have an old 26" CRT Sony TV with reasonable sound quality.

Here is the deal, my mum hates cables, speakers and anything unsightly in the lounge. So therefore having any form of surround sound or subwoofers are out of the question.

I have recently been looking at a Samsung LE37A656 TV, I have read some great reviews on this TV for picture and looks, but everyone comments on the sound being "poor" or "bearable". Which kind of makes me think twice about getting this one.

I appreciate that sound quality on an LCD won't be as good as on our CRT due to the size of the speakers, ect. But can anyone clarify what the quality of the sound is like on the LE37A656 or what LCD you think is good sound-wise.

Thanks.

I have just bought a Sharp Aquos LCD and the sound is very impressive. My brother has a Samsung and the sound was so poor he went out and bought a surround system.

Many Samsung's have absolutely pathetic sound - if you want decent sound, don't even consider one. Also, make sure you go and listen to any set you're considering.

If you want better sound go for the Toshiba, they have the best sound at the moment.

Or just get a good set of headphones.
