actually, jobseekers allowance is £60.50 per week (at age 25, 17-24 it`s £47.95), out of which you have to pay your bills, including gas, electricity and water, clothes, fares and phone calls for job interviews and food. rent and council tax are the only bills that are paid for you.

Ok - it was Joe that said he wouldn't have to pay gas & electric etc but you're right - he did say £90 a fortnight so I stand corrected

Well at least it won't be an electric one since he probably won't have the money to get it switched on

Er No - what you actually mean is that the taxpayer, eg ME, will still pay for .......

YOU can't actually afford ANYTHING since YOU don't earn anything.

I think you're right. I'm not sure of the cheapest sky package bit Im sure it can't be covered by jobseekers allowance.

Are you sure you're sufficiently prepared to move into a place on your own OP?

Mind you this thread was originally about spiders, amazing how threads evolve isn't it.

Why would i not be prepared to move in to my own flat. i am ready to move on with my life as i can't bring men home while i live with my parents, they don't mind me been gay but they don't like it shoved in there faces all the time and i had enough living here as i need my own space as i can't live with my parents all my life as i am turning 22 next month. when i was working on this 13 week placement some boys like me recieve the same jobseekers as me and they got they own flat and they also have sky+ so why can't i get it. I can affored it you know, if they can affored while they on jobseekers so can i.

You're not a boy - you are a MAN and you should start behaving like one instead of like a silly teenager. Part of being a grown up is supporting yourself and paying your own way. It's about time you realised that, frankly !

My BF and I both work - have done for 10 years now and we can't afford bloody Sky +

I think Joe is taking the piss a bit here - as its been pointed out to him several times that he is not doing those who do have to exist on benefits any favours!!! And for most people all they can do is exist.... I know very few people choose to be on benefits but then you get the odd one like Joe here who gives everyone else a bad name!!

Have you ever worked Joe? ever paid any taxes? ever contributed anything what so ever to society?

Your forthnightly Jobseekers is not YOUR money, its MINE you ignorant, uneducated little boy!!

There must a be tons of things you can do - its coming up to Christmas so lots of places will be looking for temp staff (and they may keep you on - plus they will PAY you money - your own money!!) stop watching DVD's, get off your arse and do something about it!!!

So it took 4 pages for Joe to bring up his sexuality did it?

As for making comparisons about what other people have - grow up FFS!!! I have a job, most people on this thread have a job, most peope in society have a job - I do not see that inspiring you to go out and get a job??

Well 4 pages was a Hell of a long time

I expected Joe's 2nd post to ask if we thought all the spiders were running away from him as he is gay

Wonder if spiders like Sky+, if so they could contribute to the cost. If not, Joe could sell them on eBay

I've seen loads of big ones in recent years that my parents have said are much bigger than the ones they'd get when they were little and were definitely much bigger than the ones I saw as a kid. I thiink it must be this global warming thing making them survive longer and grow bigger.

I saw one this size:

The other day, on the back of my bathroom door.

I must say i have noticed a huge increase in spiders in the kitchen and garden this year.
My bf tells me it was all the rain we had but honest to god there were webs and big'uns all over the garden and web lines from every chair to any plant or fence. it got Indian Jones at one point fighting through the sticky traps!!

Joe, you could get a T-Shirt made asking the spiders to go away and walk around teh house in it, and then come and start a thread accusing the spiders of being homophobic when they take no notice!
