Anyone have any good recommendations? We have had two BT synergy phones and this one has gone wrong after only a year.
Must have an answer phone and be cordless.

Any other makes, we though BT was ok, but are not happy with two phones in less than 3 years

IMO BT cordless phones have always been rubbish. I've always used Panasonic DECT kits and would recommend them.

With BT phones they can be hit and miss. As BT don't make phones themselves, they have them badged up.

Sometimes they get a decent company like Siemens to make them, mostly some cheap factory in China and they are dreadful. Sometimes even in the same range - one model could be a good make, others a poor make.

It's hit and miss with phones and even the likes of Philips and Panasonic have some very good and reliable models and also some dreadful and unreliable models.

You could have a look on: http://www.telephonesonline.co.uk/ and see if there are any that take your fancy and then see if you can find some reviews on them.

We had a BT DECT and it was excellent, this was a Siemens phones and went for this one due to knowing it had excellent reviews, we bought a BT corded phone without reading reviews and had to have the phone replaced with a different model as it was poor quality rubbish - should have read up.

I think v-tech are the manufacturers of the BT Verve 450. Just the one I have though, not a pack of two, three or four etc. Did not know of this until after buying it. Didn't really check the reviews on them. I don't think that there is a huge range out there. I checked the usual places such as Amazon, Argos, Currys and then actually bought from Tesco.
