Where can I get one that doesn't cost an arm an a leg?

Unicol in Oxford make them but they are not cheap. They are however very wll made and do the job really well.

I think they can cost around £50 from Amazon marketplace, so maybe that might be worth a little look.

The brackets you think are expensive were originaly intended for mounting Plasma Screens, so are over engineered for LCD TV's....Not a bad thing, but make sure you locate them in the joists ...The experience of a collapsing celing with a heavy LCD TV falling on top of you is not going to be pleasant, nor will be the reply from the insurance company!
