Silvercrest 8 in 1 Universal remote from Lidl
I have just purchased the above remote for £4.99. It is a great Universal remote, but it seems to have a very powerful IR beam signal.
The problem it has is that when programmed for my SKY box, everything works great, but if I directly point the remote at the box, and press the on/off button, the box switches on and then off again. If I point the remote at the wall opposite, and press the on/off button, the sky box acts normally. Has anyone else had this happen with this remote, or any other remote? I was thinking of using something to partially cover the SKY IR receiver to compensate for this. |

More likely a sticky button or you pressing the button a little too firmly or too long!

But it happens on 2 remotes, and works fine if I point it against another wall to bouce the signal.
This doesnt fit with a sticky key, or too long a press. |

This doesnt fit with a sticky key, or too long a press. You can prove it by looking at the IR transmitter on the remote through a digital camera. Press the button, and the LED will glow blueish white while it's transmitting. |

Adding Silvercrest SL65 code
Hi
Does anyone know how to add a Silvercrest satellite code to this remote - rather strangely they haven't listed their own branded products! Comag (sp?) products aren't listed either. thanks in advance Kevin |
