This is probably a simple problem but can't figure it we have a new LG Tv and and LG DVD, we have been happily watching them for about a week, now when we are trying to play a DVD it keeps coming up "no signal" can't seem to get the TV to see the DVD again, any ideas ? the manual is rubbish doesn't tell you anything - we were watching a DVD this morning fine, we have tried retuning it etc and swapping the leads around but nothing, both the TV and the DVD work fine, but just not together if that makes sense ?

Presumably the scart lead is not fully pushed home at one end or the other. Or the scart lead is damaged. Try another scart lead.

Thanks for the response I've tried 3 different scart leads already but will try again

If you've already tried several scart leads, then there is a strong possibility that the scart sockets that were in use at the TV and DVD end when it was working are no longer the same scart sockets that are in use now. Make sure the scart cable is coming out of the scart output on the DVD player/recorder and that is going into the correct scart input (AV1 or AV2) on the TV.

If the leads you are using are fully wired scarts, then it could be that the TV is not sending a control/switching signal via pin 8 of the scart. Some LG equipment has the facility to turn the contro signal on or off as the default setting...Check the manuals for the TV and the DVD. I had similar problems with a Panasonic set-up....There was a sub menu that allowed you to configure the control pin setting on the DVD which had been set to the off position.
