Is there a multiregion remote control hack for the Sony RDR-HDX890 recorder? I have googled around a fair bit, but can only find such a hack for the earlier 870 model. A couple of people have asked if it works on the 890, but no one seems to have confirmed either way yet.

Anyone know? I am referring to the hack mentioned here:

The link is broken.
They are basically the same machine,only difference is the size of the hard drive.

The chap in my local Sony Centre said that the new 890 has different firmware to the previous model (870), which is why I am wondering if this remote hack also works on the 890.

The remote hack is pretty well standard on Sony machines, so what you listed would work. but take a read here
