Has anyone here heard the Sugababes' new single "Girls?" I think it's quite good and I'm glad to see the Sugababes back in action again. Anyone else here heard it?

Have heard it and it is not a patch on the original in my opinion.

well i started off absolutely hating it, but it has grown on me slightly... I still think it's their worst single though (and thats coming from a HUGE Babes fan!)

I'm not a fan. It's more of the same from the Sugababes and that got old years ago.

it's strange you think it's more of the same. Many people are dissapointed with the transitions in style from albums such as one touch, angels with dirty faces and three compared to the style of Change which is obviously a complete change from previous stuff.
Taller in more ways was a slight change. You could see a movement in style on that album.

Girls is another change in style. It's very mark ronson and sounds nothing like anything they have done before.

I think alot of people would disagree with the "it's more of the same"

It's AWFUL! And this is coming from someone has loved and praised the Sugababes, until recently...

They've started, I must say, since Mutya left, to jump on the bandwagon and be like everyone else, when they shouldn't, and that's what made them popular in the first place. Now they've into "been there, done that" territory. Their last good song was Follow Me Home, and that didn't chart well. Out of their "newer look songs", I like Red Dress and Denial. But they really are quite a let down recently.

I'm so so with it. Not their best at all but I think it will probably hit number 1. They have a habit of doing that with first singles off new albums.

But I've heard the album is actually their best yet and this song shouldn't be taken as an indication of what the album is.

I don't think it's great at all. Which is massively disappointing since they usually come back with a brilliant first single from the latest album (Freak Like Me, Hole In The Head, Push The Button, About You Now) but this is just something else and not in a good way.

Musically, it is a departure. Like you say, it's very Mark Ronson, but I don't consider that a good thing. It sounds like other songs out there, particularly the use of the horns and the obvious sample. It's rather derivative.

Lyrically, it's nothing new either and that's my biggest problem with it. It's essentially 2008's "Red Dress"; expressing their feminity, flaunting their sexuality etc. It's rather tiresome now.

I do have high hopes for the album, though, which is supposed to be quite good.

I think it's too boring, I liked their old stuff better. Then again, my tastes in music have changed dramatically, so it might just be that I'm growing out of them.

The Sugababes will be performing the girls on ITV in an hour on LK.

Cannot wait for the album.

HAHA just watched their little interview and Keisha said that a producer said that their album should be called 'earth'.

So they said : 'no?'

haha love them <3.

A sad attempt at cashing in on the fact the original is on an advert. The Sugababes have been around long enough not to need to do this really.

I don't think it's a sad attempt, they said on GMTV that just over 2 years ago, they had this song in mind, went to the studios, discussed it, but put the song aside as they were going in a different music direction at the time.

So now, they have come back to it- and i think now's the right time.

For sure, this song has caused a lot of controversy with SB fans

They make a passable job of what is simply a dreadful song that should never have been released by anyone!

The album is called Catfights and Spotlights and is out in 3 weeks time.

I don't understand tho why they released Girls as lead single when critics are saying this album is the best album ever by a girl group! If they had better songs that shouldn't have been released first.
