What is it with that bloke that cries everytime he sings?

He's got a good voice, but he comes across as wet and manipulative. Somehow when he's singing he suddenly turns into the most confident man in the world, and then when he stops he cries and cries when anybody says anything remotely positive.

Get a grip. It's embarrassing.

oh i've just found out it's austin drage.

sheesh. what a completely manipulative contestant.

there's desperation and there's desperation. austin, it seems is superdesperatecrybabyman.

I'm sure it's only the first of many zillion duplicate threads between now and Christmas so I wouldn't cry about it

I'm glad someone has said something! I think hes got a good voice but Its annoying when he cries after it. I mean i guess hes just so happy that got through to bootcamp, but I don't wanna see him cry all the time. I want to see him happy without crying !

Crying should mean immediate elimination

Can't stand the tears. I agree with the OP, blatant manipulation. But then he is very media savvy - he's been in the industry for a long time.

I have heard abour being emotional but jeeez

There are people in the show who have dark pasts of drug abuse and that guy who lost his wife.

The only thing Austin has lost is his stiff upper lip

Rant over

I noticed that too!
Like, it's ok if you cry on the audition but after every song after that is weird.

Cant say I was bothered by his tears in the show and wouldnt have know who you were referring to if you hadnt said Austin. I actually think he has the best voice in the competition along with Alexandra and hopefully will do really well, even if he does cry sometimes

As I say I never really noticed that he cried all the time just remember thinking 'damn, he can sing!' and that I cant wait to hear him belt out a ballad on the live shows.

Last night's show was a total crying overload all round.

Either someone was peeling onions in the venue and it was seeping through the air con or this lot are going to be the biggest bunch of cry babies we've seen so far.

Crying before they sang, crying during them singing, crying after they'd sang, crying when they didn't get through, crying when they did get through.

I hope the live shows are going to be sponsored by Kleenex

I noticed a lot of the girl groups finding it really difficult to keep it together. I always think showing emotion is good as it shows everyone how much you want this as i wouldnt get as emotionally attached to someone who sat there stoney-faced or hard-nosed.

I think there's a difference between showing emotion and blubbing at every opportunity. .. I get slightly irritated especially by the young one's who cry saying that this is their life and all they've ever wanted. If they want to make it in the music business they are going to have to cope with a lot more criticism and rejection than beng told "no thanks" by the x-factor and a lot of them are young enough to have a lot more chances if they really want it and are prepared to put in the leg work.

They all want it, otherwise they wouldn't be there, but there again your point just goes to prove that this show isn't necessarily about the best singers but more about personality and back story.

It was interesting last night to see a lot of reasonable singers cut from the next round but then people like Cyril (nice guy, but not the best or singers) getting through.

I thought he was brilliant and just a really soulful person. People are looking into things to much I think over here. He wasn't the only one that was crying was he.

He probably will win but he's not the best singer in the competition.

Personally I would like to give them all something real to cry about.
