I really enjoyed the red button commentary last year - and was it the year before as well? I wonder why the bbc have got rid of it - Also I would have preferred Philip Jackson (red button man) over some of our current judges!

Anyone know why the beeb got rid (I haven't emailed them yet)

Who else misses it?

Now you've mentioned it,....you're right,...it wasn't there. LOL Maybe they had to get rid of Phillip Jackson to fund the payrise for the other judges. LOL

Me!

I was all excited last night as actually got to watch the show on the tv that has a red button (usually end up watching it in the kitchen! ), pressed the red button and no commentary .

If they have got rid of it for good I wonder why as I always got the impression it was pretty popular.

Me too. I liked to watch it without the commentary and tape it with to watch later.

I found it interesting comparing my thoughts with Phillips expert ones and learned so much about dancing in the process.

Now we have the judges making criticisms of certain aspects of the dancing that i'm left scratching my head over and no commentary to go back to to find out what they are talking about

Too popular perhaps.......perhaps they didnt like Phillip contradicting the judges on ITT last year.

I miss it too, I liked learning from Phillip the names of some of the moves and also wished he was one of the judges.

Maybe not many people used it?

Or maybe they didn't like him having a different view from the judges, as sometimes he disagreed quite sharply with them, and because he was presented as a dance expert it kind of made them look as though they were talking nonsense!

I loved it, great way of including the eliminated pros a bit more. Hope they will still come on ITT sometimes like they did last year.

I agree I think half of the fun was hearing what the eliminated pros thought - Erin's commentaries were often really informative as were James's. I would have been interested to hear what Flavia thought.

I'm very disappointed it's not there. I learned alot more from the commentary than from the, sometimes, very silly remarks from the judges.

If it's a question of money then I say dump the judges and bring back Phillip.

Is it perhaps something to do with the fact it's in HD too. It wasn't last year, was it? Perhaps that's what they're concentrating on.

I used to end up watching on a TV without red button too, and now I have access to one for Saturday evenings there's no commentary!

They DO talk a lot of nonsense. That's because except for Len, none of them have any qualifications in ballroom or latin.
Phillip Jackson is a well qualified coach and judge and has many years of experience. Possibly too much for the likes of Craig and Bruno, he shows their lack of knowledge, maybe that's why he had to go?
