Is anyone else a little concerned by the amount of contestants expressing this sentiment? I know it is a highly emotional time and the contest seems like everything at the moment...but still.

I think it gives the impression that a career as a famous singer is the be all and end all...there is no other life worth living as far as they are concerned.

As the vast majority of them won't have successful singing careers (whether they make it on the show or not) you wonder if things have been blown a bit out of proportion!

That really annoyed me!
