DVDs to Archos 604.

Hello.

I am wondering if it is possible to get my DVDs onto my Archos 604.

I already have Handrake and DVD43 and have used it to make some MPEG-4 Video files that work in iTunes and hopefully my iPod touch when I get that.

Is this possible with the software I already have or do I need something else?

I think it supports AVI & WMV, it didn't register the MPEG4 file.

I also don't have the AAC plug-in.

I use pocketdivxencoder to encode the DVD files to the Archos. Workes really well - never had any synch issues and works fairly quickly. Well in relation to any form of video encoding.

Sometimes I use DVSShrink to reauthor the DVD and extract just the Movie files.

I used to use a program called VirtualDub to convert all sorts of videos to use on my Archos, pretty sure it is freeware too.

I used to love my Archos, dropped it getting out the car and the HDD died, along with a little bit of me.

Check out the lovely new range.
