does anybody else think that they either need to get some new singers who can ACTUALLY sing or even spend a bit of money and get recordings of the song's they're dancing to?

they're awful, particularly one of the female ones!

forget complaining to OFCOM about eastenders i'm considering complaining about these singers-they offend mt ears!

and don't even get me started on bruce...

Whoever sang Beat It needs to be, well, beaten! That was an awful rendition. They should have got Fall Out Boy to do it.

If Heather goes early, perhaps she can help out a bit.

And Rachel could lip-synch and look pretty.

ah they are the one thing about this show that i dont like, btu they are part of the fun. i have to say, i was quite moved by that version of we've only just begun, heartwarming ' the worst was when they sang "the way we were" for emma bunton's waltz, or "kissing you" for flavia & vincent's demo waltz last year. my cat sounds less piercing

It seems to me that most of the singers are okay but there's one female who is awful.

One of the females is, IMO, very good.

That's the one, usually on the left, named Hayley Sanderson. I don't think the comments above are referring to her.

In the last series she sang Walking Back to Happiness. Can't remember which couple were dancing to it, but I can still hear her melodious "oopah oh yea yea".

I haven't got a problem with any of the singers, maybe its just that they don't blend in harmony, but I agree with you martyboy the one on the left has a lovely voice

She sang 'Sweet about me' really well last night.

When Cherie and James were dancing the woman who was singing was horrible. DWTS got much better singers.

To be honest, I thought she sounded exactly like Gabriella Cilmi who sings that song!

The main problem with the singers I think is that none of them are really comfortable singing in the higher ranges, other than that they can be quite good.

Their rendition of Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" last week for Alesha and Matthew's dance was woeful. Last series there were some songs where they were completely out of tune with the band, and I was wondering if they could hear the band properly or if maybe it sounded ok in the studio but not on the TV if that's possible!

I have heard at least two of the singers doing a really good job at times. I think the problem is with the range of styles they are asked to sing. They need to ditch the one female singer that is always out of tune and get in 2 or 3 more good singers to cover the full range of styles demanded of them.

I don't know which female singer you are referring to, but Hayley Sanderson is a very good singer. She sang ' Sweet about me' this week and last week sang ' Come away with me' for Kristina and John and 'Tennessee Waltz'

Yes, she did a really good job with those songs, all of which are in lower range. I'm not sure who did Crazy In Love but they absolutely murdered it, not able to hit the high notes at all, the male singers are just as bad.

Hayley is a brilliant singer.

But the thing I really like about her is that she is really into the show. Sitting where she is in the band, she is in shot in the background a lot especially during the judges comments. She always seem to be happy and smiling and claps the contestants after their dances and when they get good comments. Dunno why but she draws my eye (bad QM!!)

Have listened to her stuff on myspace and she is a very talented lady.

I think people are referring to the other female singer Priscilla Jones who I also don't rate.

Who was singing the chicago number (for Gillian if I remember?) I tried but couldn't see if it was live?

S Club regularly sang live on tour . Not many people actually got to sing much though as Jo was very much a lead singer. Rachel like a couple of the boys was allowed some songs to lead every now and again. There's no evidence at all she can't sing and lots of clear evidence she can.

I have given up on the woeful band and singers. The first series seemed to be OK. Since then the BBC seem to have reduced the number and quality of musicians and singers to the point that they sound like Rowland Rivron's Raw Sex combo.
Between them and Brucie I tend to watch strictly muted except for the judges comments. Thank God for It takes two.

As much as the singing is sometimes off (and I thought the worst offender was Bette Midler), I think it's worth commenting when the singers "done good" too.

I thought they did a fantastic job with "Endless Love."

Ah, the beloved caterwaulers. Like so much on SCD (Bruce, Tess, the frocks) they are noteworthy for their cringe-factor more than anything else.

But I agree that Bette Midler was atrocious. Although if I can wear tight, shiny trousers at her age with such aplomb then I'll be very surprised...
