I prefer Bad Lashes. But I am beginning to love Girlband aswell. I think their harmonies are good and stuff, and I don't know, but I was watching an interview with some of them and they reminded me of some people I knew. Anyway they are growing on me loads. I hope they do well aswell.

Spoiler

Have to see them on the live shows. Their voices are much better than bad lashes but i think Bl's have the better look. Will be interesting to see who comes out on top on live shows.

Yeah, I think Bad Lashes will go further tbh. We'll have to wait and see though.

I like both, but Bad Lashes are slightly ahead for me atm.

Finalist: Girlband
05 Oct 08

MENTORED BY: LOUIS WALSH

NAME: TITA LAU, 19
LOCATION: BRISTOL
JOB: WAITRESS

Tita from Bristol is one of the founder members of Girlband. For years she has tried to make it in the music industry and often bumped into (or auditioned against) Layla!

After a while they both decided to form a group to see if they stood a better chance as a girl group, so they recruited Tita’s younger sister and a local friend Marisa and Girlband was born.

Before Girlband, Tita spent numerous years trying to make it in the music biz and had some success with a band called Glitzzi Girlz (they supported Blue in a few concerts).

Tita claims her mum’s support has always helped her determination to follow her dream.

NAME: PHOEBE JAY LAU, 17
LOCATION: BRISTOL
JOB: STUDENT

Phoebe from Bristol is the youngest member of the group and Tita’s younger sister. According to the rest of Girlband, Phoebe is the excitable/giggly one!

She was due to start a Business course at University in October but has decided she will defer for now and concentrate on the band and their X Factor journey.

NAME: MARISA BILLITTERI, 19
LOCATION: BRISTOL
JOB: AD SALES FOR BRISTOL EVENING POST

Marisa from Bristol claims to be the quietest member of the group and still lives at home with her family.

Whilst at school between the ages of 16-17 years old, she was badly bullied by a gang of girls.

She has been singing for over 12 years and tried out for many singing competitions including local events and a Disney Channel event called Star Ticket in 2003.

After meeting the girls at various music auditions over the years she joined them to form Girlband, and The X Factor was their first audition together.

NAME: LAYLA MANOOCHEHRI, 22
LOCATION: BIRMINGHAM
JOB: MODEL/SONG WRITER

Layla from Birmingham has been singing for many years and has the most experience of the girls within the group.

She’s been a song writer (co written a song for Lisa Stansfield), recorded a rock album in Germany, supported Blue on tour and entered the first series of Pop Idol and reached the final 50.

She too had enough of never getting any major success as a solo artist decided to form a girl group with Tita to see what they could achieve together.

Layla is close to her family and both her brothers are football players, she claims to be the small cute one of the band!

To be honest girlband are 10x better singers than girls aloud. Have you ever heard girls aloud singing live ? Its not pretty. Girlband need a new name and few of them need to diet a bit, but they have potential .

I'm appreciating them.

They opened the show brilliantly last night - the nerves just didn't seem to be there IMO. To find themselves in the bottom two must've been hard, but they sang without a care in the world - note perfect throughout (and also quite emotional as the connection between the girls really came across).

If they'd performed 'That's What Friends Are For' in a later slot during the first show, they would've sailed into the next round without any trouble (and probably would've had a lot of money placed on them to win). It's just a shame Louis gave them such a cheesy pop song as the opening act.

Anyway, there's no need for me to be so negative because they're through to next week's show - based on the public vote, which is reassuring.

Go, Girlband!

I'd also like to add that the blonde girl (I'm unsure of her name) in the group is brilliant.

They're all talented singers from what I heard during their solos and two-piece harmonies, but the blonde girl blew me away with the 'money note' during 'That's What Friends Are For'.

That's all.

Marissa. Have had the pleasure of hearing her singing at Christmas concerts when she was at school. Always thought she should apply to go on X Factor.

I think their version of Thats What Friends Are For was actually my favourite performance of last week. I thought it was incredible. Gave me goosebumps. That girl with the blonde hair especially has an amazing deep, velvety voice. It's sad this thread has not even reached page 2 yet. I love them. They deserve more love.
