It came up in the papers he had lied about his sob story. I can't remember exactly what it was about but involved something like his family not wanting to know him (I could be wrong)

I think it was about his sob story.

According to the newspapers, he made the story up. Apparently he'd talked to his dad just a few weeks before his audition. This is even though he'd said on the X Factor that he hadn't been in contact with his dad for years.

The fact that Alan lied in his sob story about not knowing his dad.
It was in the newspapers.

Hopefully, he gets thrown out.

I remember something about that in the papers a few weeks. Surely he wont not get through over that, its a singing competition at the end of the day sob stories are irrelevant

Where have you been?

There are these lies that don't make the show look good and the public will never forgive lies like that. It's ok to pretend to be nervous or something like that but you don't make up that your whole reason for existing is to know your Ma and dad who he in fact already knows fully!

They should throw him out as he has brought shame on the show and they can't promote a known liar and if they didn't nothing the public would have him out at the first opportunity and so that place could have gone to someone else who didn't lie.

And let's face it, he was as flat as a pancake anyway.

They have to been seen to be fair. (even if it is as fixed as anything)

Don't think he will get chucked out but Simon will probably not pick him now as he knows that people would pick up on his lie and won't vote for him, so it's a wasted act. He ain't very likable, and he has a crap voice anyway, so hey.

Yeah I never liked him the moment I saw him which I know isnt a good thing and I felt bad about it. Some people just have something about them that isnt very likeable.
