Does anyone know? I found an entry form online and it doesn't mention it, but iirc in previous years acts have been disqualified?

I'm asking because I saw this:

http://ajmanagement.co.uk/clientDeta...ntClientID=224

I don't think he should be disqualified, anyone who wants to make it should try everything they can to get themselves heard and seen, I'm just wondering how this fits with XF rules?

I think you can have one for acting. Ray Quinn did as well.

The only problem would be if they had an existing record deal or management contract for music projects because then there would be legal problems for Syco Music and the appointed management company.

apparently he already has a record deal

Another familiar face in this series of X factor is that of 22-year-old Austin Drage who has recently been busy updating his facebook account with photographs of his muscles and tattoos in stark contrast to the tearful earnest face seen recently in the bootcamp shows! Very different too from those seen in last year's bootcamp or with Black Mountain, the Record Label, Music Publishing, and Management he appears to be currently signed with.

The Black Mountain website says he's 19, so I think that deal must be from a few years ago and is probably no longer valid. I don't like Austin, but I think he has as much right to apply for the show as anyone else.

The reason they say no existing deals is basically so any contestant who wins or is otherwise wanted by the businesses linked with the XFactor, is legally free to sign with them.
