32" LCD for around £300??
Hey everyone...
Im in need of a TV for my bedroom and i was thinking of a 32"LCD... i suppose i could go for a 26" but id prefer the bigger size.. The problem is i have a budget of around £300.. I have seen some cheaper brand LCD's for this price (vistron from ebuyer etc) but id rather buy a TV from a bigger brand name... Can anyone recomment any good buys? Ive seen a samsung 32" for around £350 but this is a little over my limit... any advice would be great.. Thanks.. Oh the TV must have built in freeview..

You will be hard pressed to find a decent 32" LCD TV for £300 let alone one from a bigger brand name.
Ebuyer do a Vistron 32" LCD Digital TV for £299.99 but I can't vouch for the picture quality. I would add that I have a large bedroom but find a 26" TV more than adequate. A larger size will dominate the room but again if you spend a lot of time viewing in your room then it's maybe worth going that big bigger. |

Oh the TV must have built in freeview.. ![]() A brief overview of it states that: Teco are quickly making a name for themselves in the flat screen TV world, producing high end TVs at competitive prices. This latest offering features a 32 inch HD screen with a huge 1500:1 contrast ratio, meaning the colours look deep and realistic, and progressive scan to keep up with the fastest paced movie sequences or live sports. You also get a multitude of connection options so you shouldn’t have any issues connecting it to your existing A/V setup. This fantastic HD-Ready TV also has an integrated Digital TV tuner, giving you all the Freeview TV channels with amazing digital clarity. Hope this helps. |

hey thanks for the replies... i do have a large bedroom with loads of room for a big tv, but may 26" would be suitable? argh!! i used to have a 28" widescreen crt and that was a good size for a bedroom i thought... also goin from a 37" in my living room to a smaller tv in the bedroom might be quite hard!!
The teco one looks a decent price, can anyone vouch for this tv?? is that a trustworth source for the brief overview? The set doesnt have to be mint, but ideally needs to be decent quality and reliable.. the vistron one has compaints of freeview and remote control so slightly put off.. |

Looking at the Vistron from ebuyer it states in the title that it has a Samsung panel in it Quote:
" Vistron 32" LCD TV HD Ready Digital Freeview Built in 1366x768 800:1 500cd/m2 HDMI Gloss Black **Samsung Panel** 1 Year Warranty "

I had a look at the reviews for the Visitron on eBuyer and I thought they were quite positive. Couldn't see any real reviews of the Teco but I do know people have complained about their poor customer service support.
I always advise people to go and see a TV in the flesh before buying but it may be difficult to find these makes in a local high street store. |

May be worth spending £50 on a Samsung , but NOT from Pixmania ,does anywhere else have it at a similar price
My Brother bought a LCD from Pixmania and it arrived witha european plug and an adapter on it for Uk use It went tits up after 4 months and it was a nightmare to get it fixed they wanted it to be returned to France for repairs I believe the Dixon group now own them , whether that means they have got better or worse ? Pixmania do not historically have a good reputation on Ds Fms What are you looking for 32 or 26 and Samsung or a decent brand name , I think £300 is to low a budget to get a brand name |

As for the eBuyer Vistron set, I know someone who got one couple\few Months back after looking for basically the cheapest large LCD TV they could find with built in DVD player. For the money it isn't too bad, I'd be happy with it in a bedroom but would probably prefer to stretch the budget if it was part of a main set up, but that's not to say there's anything wrong with it, that's just what I'd do. The freeview software is decent as well (same as my Goodmans and Acoustic Solutions) so no odd clunky EPG's either, that's one of my main gripes with some TV's so fluked a winner on that one! |

You can now get a Panny or a Sony for about £350 now-why look elsewhere?
