Lunch Help Needed
Porcupine

I have my brother in law and his two kids coming over on sunday.

I dont know what to do for a lunch. I mean, should i do a whopping big sunday lunch (although hubby and I normally eat in the evening). Will that be expected.

Or should i do something more 'snacky' and they can eat when they get home ?

I suppose i should really do the roast ? What do you suggest ?

Why don't you ask them what they want and then cook them that?

Well, if you don't want them to stay long you could do snacky.
Roast would be nice!

I went to a 'family do' yesterday and we had hot quiches, garlic bread, feta cheese salad, crusty bread, chicken bites, prawns . . . something for everyone. I must say I really enjoyed it, thought is was a great lunch and there was enough there that we didn't really need much in the evening when we got back.

Just my opinion, but snacky is best!

You see, I would rather snacky as its easier. I was thinking along the lines of quiche, pizza cut up, cheese and biscuits, salad, lots of pickles and crusty bread. And then maybe a couple of cheese caskes for pud.

Edited to say, I havent met my niece and nephew for many years. Im only doing so now because my sister (wicked witch of the west) has left him and the kids. So we have taken the chance to meet him and show support. Im a tad nervous and dont want to do the wrong thing.

Sounds perfect to me! Cheese and biscuits is always a good plan!

They're coming for lunch so I imagine they would expect
to have lunch meal.

Also make it an occasion & even surpise them since it'll be the first time you 'll see them...make them feel really welcome & the kind of food served always set the tone.

My only advice would be, whatever you decide, let them know what you are planning so that they can plan their evening meal accordingly.
