Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-E95H

I have been using this DVD Recorder for a few years now without complaints. It takes DVD-RAm or DVD-R. Now suddenly it has stopped recording or dubbing on DVD-R. As soon as I choose this function recorder gets switched off and restarts. I have several unfinalised DVD-R discs and I canīt play them anymore, not even on a PC. Phoned Panasonic hotline who asked me to use another brand of DVD-R which i tried without success. The only option is to send this unit to Panasonic for repairs which could be expensive. Did anybody had this problem and know the solution please.

Welcome to the forum.

This is most likely the infamous 'Voltage Regulator' problem for which there is a self help remedy.

This problem was first identified on an E85.

It has subsequently emerged on E95's and the E55.

There are a number of very large threads that deal with this issue.

but you can read the E85 thread which dealt with it first... See especially leslierushforths post No 114. on THIS page.

There is a link somewhere in that thread which directs you to a picture sequence of the repair.

Also, look for comments on page 34 and 35 of that thread that are specifically about the E95 which has some differences to the other machines.

Agree with Gavtech.

Many, many people - including me - have had this problem.

Interesting response you had from the Panny tech support line: 'Try a different brand of blank media'. They MUST be aware of the cause of these symptoms.

Btw, I couldn't get your link to work Gavtech! Is this the one you meant? It's the one I've followed.

Hi Steve.

Thanks for the heads up.

No idea what has happened to that link.

THIS is what was supposed to be linked... Same thread - but different page which includes post no 114.
