thought she was very shouty in the first audition - definite potential but loads of work needed.

She was one of my favourites - which group would she have been in? The girls are probably the strongest this year, so the competition was fierce, but if she's over 24 then there should have been a place for her - definately better than the older lady with the beautiful face.

^ She's 17 so she would be in Cheryl's category.
I personally think she should do what Alexandra did. Go away, get some practice/vocal training and return in a couple of years. She's got fantastic potential, but wasn't ready this year imo. |

I think your right...I wouldnt be suprised if we see her a couple years time...with a bit more experience, vocal training and time...she could be very special.
Personally when they were called inline to be told their outcome, she knew she was going home. Her face was one of dejection and disapointment Am i the only one who thinks that most of them know their fate before they r told. I would look at who else is in my line up and judge based on that whether im going home or staying. For example if i knew i was lining up to be told my fate and Alexandra or Rachel was in my group i would be thinking YAY!!!!lol |

Joelle is a lovely girl with a fantastic voice. She was the only one this season who has the potential to give Alexandra competition on a vocals only level, but she is not as polished a singer at this point.
The way they put her in the 'messed up their auditions' montage was a great example of why most really good singers have no interest in being on a show like x-factor. They showed only a brief few seconds of her , and only the part of the song where she is singing in the part of her range where she hasn't got control yet(though she was rarely pitchy, wich by the was is more a singer-ism than an americanism). My bet is that her overall performance was good, and likely better than many who were not scripted out as early as she was. But they can edit how they please, and in this case it was likely either to 'save her for another season' or, just as importantly(to those who profit from the show), it was to make it look less ridiculous when other less vocally gifted but more controvercial/character-esque/sob storied/ratings elevating for non-talent-related reasons contestants move on instead of her. If someone like Joelle got the right song or even nailed the wrong one as she has the potential to do, many of the others who were chosen to move on would suffer in the comparison to her and it would look even less justifiable that she was not going further. In any case, good luck to her and I hope she doesnt let this get her down. She seems like she has the right kind of determination, and with a bit of work, her already gorgeous voice will be undeniable.

Joelle had loads to offer but she didn't have a great bootcamp.
Her first audition was amazing but she just needed to learn to control her vocals. I think she should have been in the final 6 though.

I actually think that Amy Connelly is better than Joelle so not really surprised she didnt make it any further.

I think she was good, but I think the girls category was particularly strong this year and there were others better than her, IMO.
