Putting songs FROM my iPod onto ANOTHER computer?
Hogs Head

Hi,

I just wondered how I would do this...

My computer upstairs is the main computer where I download songs onto itunes to put onto my iPod.

But now I've got my laptop, I listen to songs on itunes using headphones. (Yes, you'd think I'd just use my iPod to listen to songs), but I'd like a few songs from my itunes on my computer upstairs on the itunes on my laptop.

I've plugged the USB of my iPod (with the songs from upstairs on) into my laptop, but how would I put them onto this itunes? The songs are grey, and after looking around, I don't know how to do it.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Not sure if this helps but the way I'd do this is use the iTunes backup wizard to make a set of backup DVD's (or CD's) using your DVD writer (assuming you have one) on the PC and then restore the backup set on the laptop and then delete any songs on the laptop that you don't want on there.
If you have a lot of purchases and ripped CD's to backup though you might want to use DVD's if you can. And then authorise the laptop on your iTunes account to play the restored purchases.

Simple.

Don't use iTunes .... it's a one way program.

You can do it with MediaMonkey, but there are also plenty other applications out there:

Quality.

Thanks for your replies, much appreciated! I thought I'd eventually need to resort to other ways to transfer the songs - i've been searching & trying stuff out for the last half hour with no joy whatsoever!

Cheers again.
