I wanted to call Barney, Dogzilla but my Husband refused. He said it would be too embarrassing at the vets when they called out the dogs name (I suppose he had a point lol)

Two dogs called Zeus and Zara, and one cat called patches.

My 17 year old dog was called Benji Boo, my spanish rescue dog had a name I can't even spell and is now Toby, my cats are called Poppy Anna and Billie Piper Billie for short.
If my O/H had his way Toby was going to be Jeff
No offence to any Jeffs out there.

One of my mates has a cat called Spanner, he looks a bit of a spanner himself when he's outside calling the cat in.

3 1/2 year old Alsation dog called Zinda. He's really big and daft as a brush.

We had great trouble naming our two girl puppies as we could think of names for boys like Dave or Rodney but girls names we found hard.

We have three daughters so they all had to agreeIn the end we called our lab cross Roxy and our blue heeler rottie cross Daisy.

Dog is a rescue and is called Amy. I wish we'd thought to change it really (as it's more a person name than a dog name I think!), but there you go, too late now, she's 10

Mine are fairly standard faire but I remember Dora Bryan on TV a while back (Overseas Property TV?) on a show hosted by Peter Purves and she mentioned that she used to have a couple of dogs called Fanny & Sambo and remembered calling them when they walked down the beach. She said "you wouldn't be able to call them that now would you?" PP's face was a picture! LMFAO

I also call my son's cat Kitty, which sounds like Katy said in an accent.

He gets called chicken too by the way they look when they crouch when they sit.

Someone called their black cat Chalky.

I have the dogs, Cody and Paul.

And a cat, Tod.

My hubby says he doesn't like our cats, but he named them all anyway!

Mine often start with one name which morphs into another

i've got three Cats

Wrex, Ziggy and ...er...Pebbles. She was called that when I get her though.

It took us ages to come up with a name, he's ginger and I was sick of hearing of ginger cats called Marmalade, Marmaduke or Jasper. His pedigree name is Pussywillow so in the end we just shortened it to Willow.

My boss used to have a cat called Cooking Fat (change over the initals)

My 2 cats, who are brothers, are called Shiro and Yoshi. Shiro used to be in a kids sci-fi show that I can only just remember, 1980 ish. And Yoshi from Super Mario games.

Our dog is named Barney and he looks a boy dog and a Barney
but often when were out and my husband has him on the lead, my boy calls him 'Tinkerbell'
people around give us a really strange look, and my husbands face is a picture

the 'nick' name came up when his new pet tags made a noise when Barney walks.. bit like a bell tinkling

My dog is called casper. However he is also know as Stinky for obvious reasons!
