I drink about 4-6 litres of diet Kick (Tescos version) a week and it seems to have no effect on me at all so i wondered how others fare?

If I'm out with a crowd I might drink the odd one with vodka but not often enough to comment really... although granted I always feel like crap the next day, whereas if I drink my usual vodka mixer of water & dash of lime or cranberry I am fine.

Thats more to do with the sugar levels & alcohol causing dehydration though isnt it?

I wouldnt have thought it could be too good for you long term simply because of the RDAs & sugars/sweeteners...

About 3 years ago, when I was working 12 hr night shifts, I used to drink Asda's version (which I think was "Blue Charge" or some such stupid name).

Probably c.1 litre per shift. Never felt it did anything to keep tiredness at bay, but, after a few weeks of this regime, found that it was making me light-headed and feeling as if I was slightly drunk. Reverted to coffee, and these sensations went away.

I have the very odd one with vodka, if I need a pick-me-up on a night out. It usually wakes me up a bit. I think its the "taurtine" (sp?) that is the main ingredient of concern.

"On August 15, 2008, researchers from the Cardiovascular Research Centre at the Royal Adelaide Hospital reported that just one can of Red Bull can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, even in young people: "One hour after they drank Red Bull, [their blood systems] were no longer normal. They were abnormal like we would expect in a patient with cardiovascular disease." Lead Researcher Scott Willoughby added that Red Bull "could be deadly when combined with stress or high blood pressure, impairing proper blood vessel function and possibly lifting the risk of blood clotting."

Not touched any of it since I read that.

Yeah, I think the taurine is the reason for its ban in some countries.

perhaps the fact that it has no effect is clue enough that u might wanna leave the drink well alone. You have reached the point where the drink is only making you feel normal and not giving you the buzz you so desperately seek!

Time for redbull rehab my friend

I'll sometimes drink one on the way to the gym, or if I'm feeling tired when I'm out at the pub I'll start with a Red Bull and Vodka, it does perk me up a bit and give me a bit of energy. I wouldn't drink it every day though.

I can't stand Red Bull but I do use the Cranberry Blue Charge as a mixer.

Double Vodka (or more )
Shot of Cranberry
Shot of Dr Pepper

Lovely drink

Tesco Kick is currently only £1 for two of the 1litre bottles, back of the net. I've been on the evening Vodka Red Bull, Solsitz, Kick or if desperate, Red Devil, for about 8 years now. Still get a pleasant feeling from it, but, well, if I have a two day period without any, the headaches and shakes are unbelievable. Not the kind of thing it's nice to put up with, so easier just to keep on drinking it. Especially at only £1 for two 1litre bottles! Plus, that Tesco Imperial Vodka is really quite nice when mixed with it.

I used to drink gallons of diet coke (for the caffeine - I worked shifts) but it made my migraines terrible - so I stopped drinking it and now drink sparkling water.

I'm shattered all the time though and occasionally I give in and buy a bottle of diet coke, but annoying it now gives me terrible normal headaches.

I don't get migraines any more though - well only very rarely.

That is quite nice, I agree, the only thing is, when you are guzzling your way through roughly 20 cans a week, week in week out, it would be hard to afford the vodka mixer if sticking to Relentless rather than the 27p per can Kick!

Incidentally, anyone had Red Snapper? It's in a can half the size of Red Bull. I bought a pallet of 24 cans with my mate. We finished them off in one night. I have never come so close to death in all my life! I projectile vomited my food from one side of the road to the other and my heart felt like it was going to burst through my chest, a feeling that didn't go away for about three hours!!!

I had a Red Bull once. I was running around like a headless chicken. My pupils dilated so much my eyes hurt. I stick to milk now.

Can't abide the stuff, the smell makes me feel sick to my stomach. That said, I do drink about 4 litres of Diet Coke a day which probably isn't much better.

I'm still here *falls over and seizes*

I like Tesco diet kick but don't drink it every day. Relentless is the best tasting but don't think they do it in diet.

I drink 4 cans a day....god help the world if I don't get my kick! (fullfat stuff)

Having said that - I have a resting heartrate of 93. It's not good for you kids....not good at all.

Better a few tablespoons of sugar than that artificial sweetener crap.... any dietician or dentist will tell you that

To be honest it doesn't really have the "wake-up" effect on me either. No idea why.

Red Bull is too expensive, 99p for a 250ml can. Sod that! I can get two 1 litre bottles of Tesck Kick/diet Kick for £1 at the moment.
