Is there a valuation website for audio equipment?

I've got an old (early 90s) Technics system here which is taking up room. I'd like to get something up to date for use with HD so thought I could free up some space by getting rid of this.

Is there a website where I can get a rough valution of old audio systems or can I assume its pretty much worthless?

Somebody somewhere will be selling (or will have sold) the same piece of kit on ebay. Check what they got for it (and don't be too disheartened if it went for a tenner or less).

Thought as much. A shame really as the sound from it is still lovely. Just a shame I won't get the most out of it hooking it up to a Sky HD box.

These days big isn't beautiful to many people, I've mananged to get rid of most of my old hi-fi kit either via ebay or freecycle, all I have left is an amp and a pair of speakers.

I've got a Technics separates system in my garage/workshop at the moment! Back in the day it would have cost the best part of a grand to buy but is practically worthless nowadays. I couldn't bare to part with it but at least I can have great quality music while I do DIY!

I would try putting it on E-bay. There are plenty of people who will buy old hi-fi as they realise what good quality equipment it was and often sounds as good, or better, than modern equivalents.

One drawback with eBay and the like is that old hi-fi tends to be quite heavy. People are reluctant to pay such postage, and making the item "collection only" drastically limits potential buyers.
