Here's what it says... Quote:
Unless you've recently beamed down from an alien planet, you'll probably be aware that this summer eight 18-year-olds moved into the Big Brother house for 10 days to take part in a unique experiment: Teen Big Brother. Source = http://www.channel4.com/entertainmen...s/teen_bb.htmlCommissioned by 4Learning, Channel 4's education department, the aim was to produce an insider's view on the lives of teenagers. By playing around with the format of the original reality TV show, the producers came up with a unique situation that challenged the teenagers to address a range of issues: citizenship, leadership, status, living and learning together - all under the watchful eye of Big Brother. Now let's just get this out the way. Yes, two of them - Jade and Tommy - did end up having sex on camera. But Teen Big Brother was about far more than a single instance of what executive producer Elaine Hackett refers to as a 'rustle under the duvet'. As usual, Big Brother made sure the new housemates were presented with a few surprises. For a start, the toilet was blocked to present the teenagers with an immediate problem to solve on their arrival in the house. Next, they were all made to share one bedroom - confounding any expectations they might have had that their experience would simply be an easy imitation of Big Brother 4. In fact, in some ways this Big Brother regime was even harsher than normal. Cigarettes and alcohol were banned, and the housemates were stripped of all personal possessions and made to dress uniformly, challenging any preconceptions of each other. (Yellow boiler suits, since you ask.) Another difference with previous Big Brother shows is that there was no public vote. The teenagers themselves decided who would leave the house in the two evictions that took place - a task that many of them found extremely stressful. At stake was the prize of a trip of a lifetime for the overall winner - who was also decided by the group. But despite all the format differences, the essence of the Big Brother experience was captured. No contact with the outside world, a series of compulsory tasks, and living under the constant scrutiny of a host of cameras and microphones. And there were other similarities with the usual version. In the words of one of the housemates, Caroline: 'I didn’t think that people in there would be two-faced, but some people were definitely in it to win the game, and that led to a fair amount of back-stabbing.' Some things never change... The results of this unique experiment will be shown on Channel 4 at 10pm in five episodes over one week from Monday 13th October. An edited version will be shown as part of the 4Learning schools programming in January 2004. A website covering the series will launch on the 8th October. The New Eye

They dont even watch the show they make? No contact with the outside world (hahahahaha). Phone calls, family video's, messages (from over the wall), Holidays abroad, contestant sent back in again and every show has had at least one contestant sent in after the show has started. On BB4 every contestant had contact with the outside world. |

What an ugly looking pair. Which tends to give the lie to the "overcome with passion" bit.
More likely overcome with the idea of a bit of press interest and £££ signs.....

of course, but it could be put in a nicer way, do you know how utterly miserable you feel when someone says your mingin! especialy when you know you are going to be seen by quite a lot of people!! it doesnt do your self esteem much good

Tommy is my son, but I am not saying about the mingin thing just because of that, I said it when people called Jade Goody mingin, even though she made the word up, of course people are going to say stuff about Tommy, I expect that, its just such a horrible word.

Its very honest of you to say that the guy involved is your son but what I don't understand is why you're promoting the programme - this is your thread isn't it?
What's done is done, but I'm not sure that I'd be clamouring for people to watch one of my brothers in similar circumstances.

Jade Goody did not make up 'minging'. It's an old Scots word - it really means 'smelly', but its meaning has recently been extended to take in 'unattractive or disgusting'.

Tommy's my Brother (Chris = Mummykins)
Why not promote the Show? It seems to me just flickin down this thread that the highlight for you lot is gonna be 'you know what' I'm proud of him for what he went and done in the house (no not that) and his experience in there was awesome. If you've already made your minds up about the series based on one thing then thats a very shallow thing to be doing. One point though: Channel 4 have brought the show forward aimed at how well they thought the series went, it was them that felt the need to mention it on the Teen BB minisite. I for one will be turning over for <insert genorous amount of time here> when that scene is shown |

The reason I posted the link from Ananova about it, is purely because it is BB related news. I was just just looking through the online news section when I came across the article, also Tommy and Jade seemed to be the ones talking about it in that article. |

I know susann, it's ok, i wasn't attacking anybody.
The reason they was talking about it was because they was asked about it and thats all they was asked about, lets face it, it's generated a huge amount of interest. *edit, BTW Hi!! |

I certainly won't be watching it for the sex scene. Endemol/Channel 4 are definitely promoting that but, if anything, its put me off the whole thing.
Not that I was too interested anyway after BB4...... There's been more than enough BB already this year in my opinion.
