I think BB4 has put a lot of people of the programme, me included, but I just wonder if people would say I wont be watching it if that incident hadnt happened! its a tiny piece of the programme, and from what I have been told, something you have to work out for yourself to know what they are doing, its that discreet, I will certainly turn over for it, but I think it should be given a chance, there are some good things go one in that house, funny stuff, and interesting.
I am upset it has been promoted using the Tommy/Jade incident as it shouldnt have been, but there is no going back now, in a couple of weeks time it will all be over with and all this will die down and be forgotten about.
They are still going to show it in Jan. for 4learning, an edited version of course.

I am not sure why you (weychris) have come onto DS and openly say who you are. the papers have wrote about whats gone on in the teen BB house but I think once this goes out on air they will be swarming at your son and the girl for all they can get .....they do visit here too ex bbers have been on these sites too ...adele was one and no doubt other BBers relations maybe parents but none have shall we say come out

i think you may have made the right choice to be honest because when this does go out and FMs come here to make comments your going to see good things sadi but also some pretty nasty stuff and you will want to defend your son and your reaction could be picked up by any papers that visit here too

I have to say Weychris that a lot of fm's are probably thinking what Rachel has put into words. Maybe you shouldn't post on here if you can't handle any critisism of the programme and your son, as there are bound to be lots of positive and negative posts on Teen BB. After all your son choose to enter that house and act the way he did, no-one forced him to. It's a case really of if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Going off on one and saying you don't care what people think and you won't post on here anymore doesn't help.

If it was my son in your son's place, I am pretty sure I wouldn't visit the forums in the first place anyway, as I would have to be pretty niave not to expect negative responses from fm's and I don't think I could handle that.

Aren't we a bit contradictory?

We say we want BB contestants to come here.. we even get some threads inviting them to come into the open and say hi... and then when someone comes here we doubt their motives.

I might be a bit naive but I like the concept of people who are part of BB using forums to address the balance when in comes to what the newspapers say, Channel 4 shows and FMs assume.

I accept it requieres people being able to handle criticism and a certain degree of resilience when reading some of the more vicious posts here... and the motives will be always open to interpretation... but already we do suspect previous HMs, family and friends visiting here ... do we want them to do so undercover?

They may be asked to come here but I think most of us are realistic enough to know that’s not what they would do

I'm not too sure who your post was aimed at Tamara. most likely myself and Rachel. Maybe I was a bit harsh in that respect, but I only posted one line on a motive. Yes it is good to get ex hm's and/ or their families to give their views on forums, but only if they can handle it. I myself don't know if I could handle the critisisms imho.

Weychris was on the forums before her son entered the BB house by the looks of it, but now can't seem to handle what she must have known would be negative aspects. Now she is on the forums maybe she should just address what people are saying like it or not. Weychris's other son seems to handle the forum better than herself.

I don't know why weychris is "promoting" Teen BB. I guess it's because in spite of the sex incident she is proud of her son being selected and what he achieved.

Based on what I have read, the program will be interesting because it gives us the opportunity of witnessing young people discussing about the issues that concern them.... The sex is just being used as a way to create interest by Endemol/Channel 4.

PS.. Edit.. Just read your post Susann.. I hope this clears things... I wasn't directly addressing you or rachelb65.. I used "we" as a way to include myself as part of the contradiction... because I too have doubts about how wise is or not

i do actually want to watch this one and i think it will be better than BB4

the consolation prize maybe for a naff summer they dished up to us

but it isnt the sex that will is drawing my attention to it the fact i want to see how 18 year olds behave today and how they have changed compared to my time i was 18 and to see what im letting myself in for in 7 years when my 1st child hits that age

Hopefully the program is interesting... as it stands this year BB never happened .. with one little exception

The sex isn't anyhing that will draw me to the show ... I would be a very sad creature if I got a kick out of watching some youngsters fumbling under a duvet.

The project was intended as educational and I think it's good they are trying to bring it to a wider audience (in spite of the gimmick) ... parents need to be educated too.

yes, family of the housemates check these forums daily (me for example)
If you have any negative comments, they should only be aimed at actions and things said.
Personal attacks like calling tom and jade 'minging' is not fair, it's derogatory and should be avoided, much along the same lines as racism, sexism etc
Everybodies entitled to their opinions sure, but c'mon, putting someone down for their appearence just isn't on

the problem is here though that its a fact of life on the forums that once someone puts themselves in the BB house they will get ripped apart whether its what they say , do, or look

jade and justine have been torn to shreds about how they look and what their figures are like.

i can see your point about being family and it hurts to read this stuff but havent we all done that to people whether it be on a forum or real life ....took the P out of someones appearance .... i know i have and to admit it doesnt make me feel good ...lets hope this subject can be addressed before teen BB starts but i doubt it will

I personally appreciate you are taking the opportunity to post here and agree with you about judging contestants on what we see them doing or saying in the show. The forum also is used to discuss contestants once they are out, given the publicity and interest generated by them. But that's sometimes wishful thinking... We know far too well that all of us have overstepped the mark in this forum on many occasions.. it's human nature.

Appearance shouldn't be a way to discriminate. Although I believe some tongue in cheek/witty comments are primarily inoffensive and as such you shouldnt' take them on board too literally.

I took the comments about them being mingin... as what they saw in that particular picture. I am not British so I am not totally sure if the word has other connotations. Being honest, it doesn't do any of them any favours, having seen other pictures before.

All it is is Channel 4 wasting their BB money on more BB.

Do you enjoy BB? Isn't good that Channel 4 spends the money in reinvesting in the format with an educational twist?

Answering your questio about why is an experiment... Because of the changes to the format to adapt to the purpose of the program... in their own words..

One things for sure, Tommy's family can take the prize for family contribution to the forum and, indeed, BB itself.

If you look back on the teen BB threads you'll see that, so far, we appear to have had posts from Tommy's Mum, Dad and brother, all saying how much we'll enjoy teen BB, and that we'll have some interesting surprises - and this was said before there was anything in the press about sex in the house.

I was also interested to see that Tommy's Mum had a niece in the house at the same time according to her original posts.

This must be a record for an individual family's involvement in a particular BB show surely. :sleep:

Darling, I have the impression the story about the niece was only a way for Tommy's mum to back up that she was talking from an insider angle... otherwise people would have said she was just inventing stuff.

No doubt there are a number of possible explanations for posting that you have a niece and a son in the BB house at the same time.

I have been doing my own research... It seems weychris and Gareth Wright have been posting here and in the Official site.. I haven't came across the posts from the father.

I admit they are a bit unusual in the sense we haven't came across with families so openly interested to give their views in the past... but I am still keeping my cynical side in check..

In a way, I can understand they feel protective and want to ensure some opportunities would arise for Tommy from this experience. Wrong or right is another matter.

As a BB fan I like to find out about the inner workings of BB so I will be more than glad to hear what they have to say. But I'm afraid they have opened a can of worms and they are in for a nasty ride in here.

weymel seems to be the patriarch of the family.

I'm sure we'll all be as civil to them as we would be to any other hms.

If their behaviour seems a little unusual though they must expect people to comment on it.

And they should also be ready for criticism of their niece or son, as the case may be. IMO it would be unreasonable to expect other hms to censor their post for these people alone - although some hms may be happy to do so not everyone will be.
