I am with you that I won't be holding back just because we know for certain the family of one of the HMs is posting here. I have always assumed some of the previous HMs or their families have been lurking around here (or contributing) and that hasn't deterred me from expressing my negative opinions if I have a reason for them .. (Cameron, Justine and Jonny .. hi )

Let's wait and see how things develop... Looking forward to see this show... I am still craving for a kind of BB fix.. even I know this is going to be a miniBB..

We have three of them in the house here, before any of this BB thing came up i am a regular visitor of 30+ other forums, with over 10,000 posts to my name.
This will be the last post i make on any Big Brother forums, however, i am watching for comments, but one thing is for sure, i saw the TV promo earlier, and any comments, good or bad is irrelevant, it's gonna be great to watch

And as there's no public votes in teenBB, u cant accuse them of ulterior motive like canvassing for our votes. The only 'motive' i can see for them openly posting about it is coz as family they are proud of him, and why not?

to me this is no different to BB contestants family and friends appearing on BBLB, RISE, GMTV etc.... so are they all milking the situation too?

I think there is a couple of things we should get straight and clear up.

We post on these boards for a number of reasons, there is the reason that we actually like BB, and the reason Chris posted initially and claimed to have a niece in the house was because she wanted to give you inside information FIRST, and was forbidden due to contractual agreements to mention Tommy was our son, a previous poster was spot on! There is also the reason that we are EXTREMELY proud of Tommy for going in the house in the first place, do you realise how much guts that takes? if you think it is easy, think again! As to Tommy's indescretion with Jade, NO we are NOT proud of that, in fact quite the opposite, having said that, both parties are adults and both parties were consenting, we have NEVER promoted that incident.

Ulterior motives! like what? don't want your votes, don't want your money, what ulteroir motives?

As for Tommy's looks and appearance (not here to speak for Jade) minging he may be, but if mingin means having girls queing up to go out with you (pre BB) then I want to be mingin.

As for the jealousy theory, surely you can understand that, you don't know them, you haven't seen the show, what do you base your judgements on? jealousy is definatley a good explanation, how do we know that these critics haven't applied and failed to be on Teen BB!

Tommy has already given a web interview to another BB site, where it was much appreciated, after all BB is why we are here, having said that we will not be posting anymore in here if the situation stays the same, which is strange, here we are on a BB forum and you don't want anybody associated with the show posting!

Watch it, Don't watch it, either way you won't distract from the fact that it is by far "the best BB to date" (not our words).

from the limited information as to, "why " tommys family would come on here to post was my initial feeling i had from it, maybe thats why i was honest to say what my feeling about it was at the beginning .... reading his fathers post now i might just have a different view ...as i said in a post later on ...i dont mind being proved wrong or changing my view with more information im then given .....at the moment my gut feeling is that whychris/mel seem a bit uptight about being questioned on their reasons to post .....from what ive seen today i hope your ready to handle all this if and when there is criticism and all i pointed at at the beginning was that papers read here and that some of the ex HMs do and also why would a family feel they wanted to come on here and what my first thoughts were and i was told i was wrong about it all ...fine im wrong but its took a dozen posts to tell me why they are here

if someone feels im having a dig then they are wrong

if anything im quite concerned about families reading things here about there kids after they have entered the house ....i know how i would feel if my kids were being talked about in a bad way

yeah it cant be nice for the families to read unkind stuff about their whoever (but they know that comes with the territory, so to speak)
And i guess its human curiosity to want to know what people are saying about you or a loved one. Whether nice or bad. And to want to defend them against nasty remarks that are out of order, like plain lies or slander about them. (Nasty opinions are fair enough, thats something they just gotta accept, its what the contestant let themself in for, to be liked or disliked by the public.)

i disagree with your opinion about them going on BBLB in support, i liked that, some of the family&friends guests in past series were good tv. I dont think theres anything wrong with them appearing as a show of support, or to defend their housemate against criticism.

And besides it wasnt just BBLB that previous contestants families went on. They also were happy to go on RISE and GMTV in support.
I dunno about BBLB maybe they have contractual obligations for that?, but not i dont think for the breakfast tv shows. That proves they actively wanted to support and defend them.

And why not.... Thats what family and good friends do.

Its nice to see such a family of computer buffs and BB fans deciding en masse to join the DS BB forum for the first time.

On the programme itself, I'm sure plenty of people here will watch BB teen. A lot just love BB and will enjoy any show almost regardless of the hms. But personally I think that there's a distinct possibility that the tabloid clamour for sex will have encouraged people with no wit, intelligence, charm or even looks to recommend them to have sex in the BB house in the hope that it will attract the attention and money from the press and media that other BB hms have enjoyed. I don't particularly blame them but I wouldn't be bothered watching it either - or buying any of the magazines or newspapers that promote it. And I think that it would further devalue the BB brand - but that's Endemol/Channel 4's problem and they will deserve it.

You've told us that this particular BB is the best ever so we can sit back and be entertained. I'm not sure that hms or their families are the best judge - the BB4-ers thought their show was the best ever too I can't help recalling. But I'll certainly give it half an hour to prove you right .........

Anyway, I think I've bumped this thread more than enough so I'll leave it at that. :sleep:

i'm sure you agree that the whole post by darling made sense, though, in that the families and friends of housemates will always feel bias. you're hardly going to say "don't watch it, it's crap" are you?

i can't help thinking as well, that you seem to be taking a bit of a "them and us" stand regarding this forum, (the quote above for example). remember, there are many more on here with open minds and astute opinions, than there are of those who will just post to put people down.

The quote refers to the fact that it is not our opinion that Teen BB is the best so far, this was stated by the producers, Ch4 and the media that were sent the preview tape (not all the media recieved this). Hence the comment "not in our words" .

and besides its really a different kinda show aint it......i dont think it'll be seen as a 'proper' BB... its not long enough for the contestants to grow on viewers... there's no public voting that encourages peeps to feel emotionally involved... "the best BB ever"? - unlikely

But 'they' haven't said that in public, so no they wouldn't, you only have to look at the trailers on CH 4 to see it is far better in 15 seconds than in the whole of BB4.
As for it being a different show, well, yes to an extent it is, but only due to it's short time, and lack of public involvement, otherwise it is exactly the same, having said that I have watched the last 3 BB's and have never got emotional over the voting, but thats probably because the voting is led by the media and not true public feelings.

It's not going to be 'proper' BB as you say, it seems to be more like BB USA. I quite enjoyed that, but wasn't glued to it

Lets face it, this is not on the whole a 'fan' site. The tone of this forum is critical and mickey-taking. Nearly all former HMs have had a rough ride here and I suspect it will be the same for the Teens

I think Tommy's family will need a pretty thick skin.

The fact that all three appear to have responded to mild criticism and/or questioning of their motives by saying they will not post again doesn't bode well.

However as they have posted again perhaps they have changed their minds.

Please stick around guys, inside info is jolly hard to come by.

a) no I didn't worry about the lack of viewer involvment. Although I've watched all the BBs I've never voted and don't really enjoy the crowd involvment on the eviction shows. I think of myself as an observer not a participant

b) not much of that either really. The Club 18-30 types who clutter up our BB are just as foreign to me as Americans

c) I enjoyed the game aspect of it, the strategy, tactics, alliances. As it wasn't a personality contest like our BB the charisma of the contestants didn.t really enter into it. I quite 'liked' a few of them - Justin, Jack, Erica, Jee - but that's not what i enjoyed about the show

d) definitely a factor. I just couldn't devote the time to watching the E4 coverage that would have been necessary to really get stuck into it. I was still ruing wasting nine weeks of my life on BB4

e) the major factor was the way E4 sodded up the coverage. I never knew when the shows were on, and it happened several times that the ' as live ' coverage gave away things that hadn't been shown on the Julie Chen shows. They just made a right pig's ear of it

I like the idea of the HMs being responsible for nominations and evictions. Makes it more of a game between themselves rather than having HMs appealing over the heads of their fellows to the watching public ( playing to the cameras in other words )

Teen BB is not going to take up much of my life, and I'm ready for another shot after the disappointment of BB4

against-the-grain characters like Jon or Alex would defo been voted out in week one... would BB4 and BB3 been better if that'd happen? i dunno.... i gotta say i was glad they stayed thru to the end though

what about maybe have a compromise between contestant vote and public vote to evict.... kinda like Fame Academy?... so have 3 nominees each week, public save one, then contestants decide who to evict from the remaining two

I'll just quickly rattle off my thoughts...

I wouldn't be so quick to slam the kids on Teen BB - the proper BB wannabes are always fair game in my book though I reserve the right to say the programme's awful if it turns out to be awful though

Having sex in the house was a dumb, dumb, dumb thing to do. On the other hand it's lucky there's nobody here who witnessed some of the really dumb things I did at 18

Channel Four and Endemol are money-grubbing sleazebags. What do we call companies that produce tapes of people having sex for public entertainment? I call them pornographers.

Let's face it, the only reason this programme is being shown in the evening is because of the sex. If Channel Four had any integrity (what a laugh that is) they wouldn't show the scene.

Finally, it's nice to see some family members posting on the forums and it's nice to see they're proud of Tommy being on the programme. If they've been around the forums long enough they're bound to know that every BB contestant is going to be slammed by someone at some point.

I'd just be more concerned about the casual troll who sees a golden opportunity to wind them up I'm not referring to anyone who's already posted on this thread when I say that though.
