Oasis - Dig out your soul
It's hard not to be impressed with the way Noel Gallagher has managed to turn Oasis' apparently permanent state of musical stasis into a matter of class pride. "It's a working-class thing ... I'm not an experimenter," he recently remarked, as if making interesting music was an unacceptable capitulation to bourgeois mores, like joining a snooty golf club.
Anyone heard it yet? I am just listening to it. Read the full review and listen to album tracks here. |

There's a dig out your soul thread a few pages back.
It's a fabulous album and I can't wait to get the C.D on monday. (I've only heard the leak). |

What I have heard so far (about half way through) is very good.

It's available to hear in full on Myspace. Just type "Oasis Myspace" in to Google and you'll find it. The album's fab, will be buying it on Monday.

I think 'The Shock Of The Lightning' is a great sounding track although the tune is a bit weak.

I would also give it an 8 - I haven't had it off to be honest with you.
It's so fresh sounding and different from the usual Oasis. It's great stuff. |

Heres a heads up to all of want o know what it'll be like...
They're playing the whole album back with an interview with the band from 11pm Tuesday night on XFM. London 104.9 - Manchester 97.7 - Scotland 105.7-106.1 Most places across GB on DAB Sky - Freesat - Virgin Media http://www.xfm.co.uk I'll make my mind up then... I believe that absolute radio are doing something similar too, but dunno when... |

Andy and Gem wrote 1 track each from the 11 excuse you!
The same amount they wrote last album. I have 6 hours of studio time on Tuesday so I'll get to listen to it in great quality

The album is fantastic (as I've said in my original thread)! I've had the tracks on loop ever since I got my copy. This morning I got it from iTunes and watched the documentary which is a good laugh.

Jessica. Did you hear the new song in the documentary? Apparently the band recorded 3 tracks with choirs but two got dropped. What's the song like? I've heard it's played near the start.

AllMusicGuide gave it 4.5/5
![]() This is awesome - considering they gave Heathen Chemistry and Standing on the Shoulder of Giants like 2/5 each. I can't wait to hear it on C.D I'm about to buy it on my way to work. |

Bought this today and just had my first listen.....bit disappointed to be honest.
No real standout tracks as far as I can tell, will persevere though. |

Only listened to it once so far but I am really impressed with Noel's songs on the album. I liked the others but didn't think they were great - they will probably grow on me. Can't help but wish they would leave the songwriting to Noel though.

Very good album allthough I had to give it two listens to fully appreciate it. Everybody harps on about their first two albums which are no doubt classics however I personnally like every album they have done, Be Here Now and Standing on the shoulder of giants are criminally under rated in my opinion. particuly giants which includes some of the best Oasis tracks ever Go let it out, Who Feels love? Sunday morning call, Gas Panic and Where did it all go wrong. Heathen chemistry and dont believe the truth are also excellent, what I like about Oasis is like th Beatles they arent afraid to experiment with their sound which unfortunatly doesnt always appeal to every one.
