My dog gets the right hump. He stands in front of you and stamps his foot.

Yeah. Ours occasionally decides he's not getting enough attention and will lie with his back to us, letting out big sighs to make sure we notice

My dog sulks she turns her back on us and faces the wall.

And once my dad took her to my nannas house whilst we were on holiday but he didn't pick her up my mom did. So the dog chose to pretend that my dad no longer existed. This lasted two days! my dad tried everyhting to win her round

our staffie gets the strop on if she thinks she's not getting enough attention or if we've been out without her - she puts her head between her paws and huffs and sighs as if she's really hard done by

You are making the mistake of assuming that a dogs behavioiur / body language is a reflection of a human. If a dog sighs, this is almost always a sign that he is contented. The classic lie down flat with head on paws isn't a sulk, it's more, you have my absolute respect and I a/w my next instruction. If this is combined with turning his back this is a sign of absolute trust. Gaa-ruf!

my cat has tantrums. He bolts to the settee, and starts to rip the fabric, tell him off and he goes to the armchair. He stares at you with a wicked look in his eye while hes doing it.

Usually the cause is he is told off, or moved from the place he is sat, and if he tries to steal the meat off your plate.
