I haven't watched tonight's DWTS yet, but I was looking through my Sky programme planner and notice that it isn't on next Friday. I also notice that the programme link has disappeared as well.

I realise that it maybe mentioned in the show itself when I come to watch it, but if not does anyone know the reason it isn't being shown?

The problem is Sky's EPG hasn't updated the changes to UKTV taking place next week, with 'watch' and 'G.O.L.D' replacing UKTV Gold and UKTV Gold+1. I suspect Dancing With the Stars will pop up on one of those channels. I'd check on Tuesday after the revamp takes place to see if anything's changed.

DWTS is definitely on Watch according to my TV magazine.

Thank you for the update Fudd and cranfordfan. I didn't realise that these channels were going to undergo a name change.

Why can't they leave the channels alone? What is the point of changing their names - and what daft names they choose..... A tv channel named G.O.L.D. instead of Gold - why? And Watch? And who could take a channel seriously that is named 'Dave'?

According to my Sky planner, there is no DWTS on 109 next Friday and it is still listed as UK Gold.

No but it's on Watch which is the new channel. G.O.L.D. stands for Go On Laugh Daily and looks like it's going to be non-stop comedy from Tuesday onwards. Watch looks like it's going to have the non-comedy stuff from Gold and UKTV drama.

Watch and the other new channels appeared in my Virgin EPG sometime after 7.30am today and DWTS is definitely on this Friday evening on Watch as well as repeated on Saturday morning. However I had to reset the series to record on my V+ box as it didn't transfer automatically to the new channel. Just thought I should warn others who record it.

BEWARE if you are watching via Virgin. On some packages the old channel 124 which was UKTV Gold and available on virtually all their packages is now Watch and only available on their V+ service. It is costing me £10.50 a month to upgrade. They say I have another 70 channels as well, but I only wanted this 1 which until this morning was available to me

You have my sympathy and empathy. I upgraded to the XL package so I could watch Dexter on FX but I'm back on L now and won't upgrade again. So no more DWTS for me. I do find this a bit of an underhand marketing ploy from Virgin actually - they had FX on the L package for the first month of Dexter and then it suddenly disappeared. If they'd done it as a clearly stated guest channel I wouldn't have minded but I did feel I'd been duped into watching. As you say, when you only want to watch one channel the other 70 odd that you get (which are mostly rubbish anyway) isn't a consolation, but when you're really into a show it's hard to resist upgrading.
