It was only funny with Matt v Gethin because it came from a genuine joke between themselves, and even then they seemed

when the Beeb dragged it out longer than one episode. Its not working for these two, its embarrassing.

I think that's the whole thing in this rivalry. I think they were told by the BBC to play it up and Tom as an actor is getting into the role whereas Austin just thinks it's all a bunch of .... nonsense and is (rightly) not playing along.
