oi, nothing wrong with coming here. Saint Tropez and all those other places can be tacky so they should be delighted to come to the Emerald Isle

I love the way people think Louie pays!

I suspect the producers bunged the groups to Ireland as it's a damn sight cheaper on flight tickets.

Cannnes, St Tropez, Barbados and Ireland

A lovely country to visit but why doesn't he ever take his category any further?

Looks like it was Easyjet too.
Well if it was Easyjet then where do you think the Air Lingus plane we saw was flying to then??

Morning all!

Interesting story to tell ye. I live about 10 mins away from Castle Leslie where louis took his acts. Remember thats where Paul McCartney got married to Heather Mills (God, was that a mistake them two marrying!!) Anyways I have a friend who works down there and all the staff had to sign a contract saying they wouldn't tell anyone that the X factor acts were there.

I only found this out yesterday afternoon. If Ihad of known they were there I would have done some snooping around!!

Missed opportunity.

P.S. I dont hink this guy would have don very well in the auditions at Castle Leslie!!!

Also, if I was from the UK and I was told I were going to Ireland Id be so jealous of the other ones going to all these exotic places.

Exotic place for free.....Ireland for free.....mmmmm tough decision!!

Lol I was just thinking that! I would be well miffed off if I had to go to Ireland when everyone else got Barbados and St Tropez!
I wouldn't. It's a far more beautiful country than the now spoilt and plastic south of France and you couldn't pay me to go to somewhere like Barbados.

I bet they only sent the groups to Ireland so they had to pay for less longer distance plane tickets.

taking them to ireland is so obvious...of course they're gonna know they've got louis. he should take them somewhere else, that way it wouldn't be so obvious. they were clearly gutted, means theres no guessing who they're mentor's gonna be.

Totally agree. Ireland has unspoilt, breathtaking scenery, quiet roads, fantastic food and drink and the most wonderful genuinely kind, friendly, welcoming and entertaining people in the world IMHO.

Most of the "exotic" locations are too busy, too hyped, too hot, overpriced and tacky. Everyone stinks of sun tan lotion and/or mosquito repellent and/or sweat. Yuk.

But it's all good. Let the hoards think that the exotic is more appealing and leave the real beauty to those of us that can appreciate it!

I couldn't agree more plus the recent horror stories involving tourists in "exotic" destinations are just the tip of the iceberg. These things happen every week and are not reported. You can take your "exotic" destinations.

Cannes (france) and no, i dont think she has a home there. Its not even there ''real'' houses, anyway.

PMSL! when they said ... ''IRELAND'' and there faces were a picture!

In the earlier series, they used to pretend the contestants were actually going to the judges own houses. Last year on the Graham Norton show, Louis told the truth and said they dont go anywhere near the judges houses. The official Xfactor statement was somthing along the lines of "we never said it was their HOMES....." So now Simon uses it as an opportunity to top up his tan while "Working" and Dannii and Cheryl have jumped on the bandwagon as well. And apparently the contestants didnt get to stay in the villas that Cheryl and Dannii were in. Not sure about Louis or Simons

I think what's really funny is that that lad, the one from Priority is Irish, and will have had to fly from Ireland to London for the airport scene, just to fly back to Ireland again!

I love Ireland to pieces but i must admit i woud be disappointed if i were going there rather than somewhere like Cannes or Barbados.

I imagine the experience would be far more exciting and memorable.

In the first series they did actually go to Simon's house in London and Sharon's house (it was the one she sold because it was "unlucky" with Ozzy's accident, a fire and a break-in all taking place there). And they made a joke of Louis saying he wasn't as rich as the other two and didn't want dozens of people (he had the groups) trouping through his house so he took them somewhere else in Dublin.

Sharon's house in LA was hers as well which was series 2, I think.

I'm not sure whether the Barbados one was Simon's. He always goes on holiday there, IIRC. But it might have been the villa at the prestigious Sandy Lane resort (at Christmas is will set you back $25,000 a night).
