Her "pop star" chart placings were bad to say the least, she had sunk without trace until her ex and sugar daddy Simon brought her back from the dead.

She must be the most pointless person to appear on the X factor.Maybe the fan she always uses is to stop her skin from melting.

Sugar daddy is about right, he obviously has to keep her sweet for some reason or another. It's Simon Cowell for cripes sake - Danni has an ex-spice girl, Cheryl has a girl aloud, Louis has a westlifer ... and the most powerful man in pop has .... 80's pop act Sinnita! *snigger*

I love Sinitta as she is such a character. She was so DIVA when she walked out that door wearing her gold bikini. Laughed so much when Simon said "What are you wearing?"

All she has to offer are her ridiculous outfits

She went through a bad time at some point and Simon helps her out because they've been friends for most of their lives.

Simon is probably just a nice guy looking out for his friends.

But that's more than enough really, isn't it?!

It's not as though the special guests are anything more than a novelty. He'd be as well bringing in his mother or brother! Sinitta's credentials are "Simon's first signing, friends with him for 20 years, dodgy outfit wearer" which is probably enough for this particular job.

Not sure she needs his money though, she was friends with him when he was bankrupt and her husband is rich anyway, IIRC. It's his fame that works well for her. I do notice that he hasn't let her near America, though!

Yes. And absolutely NOBODY(and certainly not Alan) can lie to Simon's face because it's got a sheen of gold on it.

Because Ryan Seacrest isn't as nice as Dermot O'Leary.

Which is saying something considering how he and Holly laughed at her on Xtra Factor.

On the basis that people like to be cutting and nasty to people's faces.

I also liked the

Simon: This performance is going to change this kid's life forever.
Sinitta: What do you mean?

Dear, I know it's been a year since the last time you got called back from oblivion, so maybe just hang a little post-it note on your mirror that says "I'm helping Simon pick singers for X-Factor", so you can actually remember that and be less pointless!

On the other hand, considering that outfit, I'm not sure she has the habit of looking at the mirror.

I think she did the "what do you mean" line so that simon can say that he planned to put Austin through right from the start when he's interviewed after he obviously puts Austin through tommorow.

Coincidentally, every man Sinitta has gone out with seems to have been rich.

Fab.

Sinitta is still a gorgeous woman. Beautiful face, even if she did look like a snapped Xmas cracker last night.

Honestly, Simon is cleverer than people think. She is super entertaining - how many people were just waiting to see what she had on? Everyone knows she knows Simon inside out so you're just waiting for her to drop him in it. When she opens her mouth, no-one takes anything she says seriously.

So Simon brings glamour, fun, kookiness and suprprise to the show on his team, and it makes him seem so much more impressive when next to her. Just the image he wants to portray. She's perfect.

Or - they're good mates and he can work with her on the top rated tv show in the uk. If that were me, I'd work with my best friend and have a laugh if I could!

Wouldn't doubt Simon's type of friendship to her but Sinitta's damn lucky to have it! IMO her notability was down to her 'singing' and that talent was rwally helped by Pete Waterman a hell of a lot back in the eighties.

Spot on post. She isnt there to help pick the final 3 as Simon decides and would take no notice of whoever was his guest judge so he might as well take along a best friend.

Simon knows who he wants and Sunnita wouldnt sway him any other way. She is there to give us all a laugh and that costume certainly gave me a laugh. She looked like she was auditioning for a 1970's Bond girl.

I also loved the powder puff coming out from behind the fan each time she knew the camera was going to her she had to keep dusting the sweat (or glow!) off he face for the camera.

As long as Cowell doesnt put her on another show such as Britains Got Talent etc then a few appearances on Xfactor is fine for us to have a laugh.

Well, she claims to be turning 40 this weekend, so 18? But, come on, Janet, David Essex?

Well, if she really is 40 this weekend, then she was 18 at the time of So Macho. Wasn't it soon after that that she went out with Ol' Twinkly Eyes?

She hasn't seem to have aged at all since the 80s. How lucky is she
