Everybody automatically assumes they are lying because a) she went to the papers (but then how else would she get word out if she feels strongly hes not being put across as how he really is) and b) the X-Factors PR handling is so strong, and the show goes to great lengths to create an image for the contestants that the public generally believes what they're told on screen.

C'mon, its real life - if you take a bunch of kids who are lower class/middle class, and have only ever been around the wannabee stages of the showbiz industry you are bound to get a few druggies, a few love cheats, a few with criminal records ... that's what the show is about with the sob stories, they become "reformed" and from "broken homes" and everyones supposed to believe they're the next Madonna.”

I think you're right - but like I said, the thing is, I have no way of knowing what's true and what's not, only based on what the papers say (which is often inaccurate) and what the PR team says (which is often said to suit their needs) so it makes me feel uncomfortable passing judgment either way.

How is it worse - maybe for Rachel but for the children it means they get to have opportunities and life Rachel would not have been able to provide for them.

I did say the children are the fortunate ones , if she does make it big she still won't get them back as she was deemed to be an unfit mother

But they aren't illegal. I can't see Simon allowing someone to win who he can't take to the US, and if she has drug convictions she won't be able to.

Yeah, young 'upper class' people don't do drugs, don't have a criminal record etc, etc. *rolls eyes*

I like how people say most young people do it as a way to say its fine to do drugs! Imagine what a role model Rachel will be if she is on drugs! (I really hope its all garbage in the paper)

What is it with people saying it's "only cannabis?" It's a strong drug, that can damage the brain. It's different now from what people smoked back in the 70s, it is mostly skunk now which is disturbing that people say its harmless.

Oh come on now, the music industry is rife with artists and management that use drugs on a regular basis, and not just the obvious ones like Winehouse.

I haven't met anyone in the music industry that DOESN'T do drugs in one form or another (I don't hang with the stars but I do hang with their "people").
If this was Oasis or someone similar no-one would bat an eyelid.

Sure - the industry is notoriously rife with drugs - but the majority of them aren't being voted for in a "family friendly" Saturday night entertainment show.

I don't care about the drugs and I think Rachel has a great voice, but I really can't stand her attitude, sense of entitlement and unwillingness to admit when she was wrong (always other people's faults).

I will give her the benefit of a clean slate for the live shows though.
