I think enough is enough tbh.

I think there is nothing wrong at all with being emotional but every time we see him he is either filling up or already crying.

I hope that (if) he gets through he isn't going to be bursting into tears each live show. (talk about nightmare viewing) It puts me totally off and I can see the public seeing through it as well because it comes acoss as desperate because it feels so fake.

The tears have to stop.

I KNOW! He's driving me nuts I quite liked his voice last night but I am finding it hard to like him because of the show he makes of himself.

I also think he's good but he just goes waaaaaay over the top with his notes.
Also, why does he have to quiver his lips like Mariah & Whitney do?? So annoying when he does it.

He's not the only one, though. Alex is constantly weeping. I don't mind this too much, so long as they can sing. Alex and Austin can sing.

Neither are my current faves but they are good.

Yeah ..... I hear yah!! .... but to be honest, it doesn't bother me ..... What counts for me personally, is that he delivers when he sings ...... other than that ..... he can cry as much as he likes ..... but I have noticed, others, seem to have a real problem with his tears ... so much so .... it's begining to put them off him .... I hope not ..... I really want to see him do well .... I think he's great

The thing that bugged me the most was when he burst into tears after he sang "Valerie" at bootcamp. He got the crowd on their feet and got great comments from the judges, yet he bursts into tears and acts suprised when he gets put through.

The tears are a bit OTT for my liking and I don't think he's as humble and down to earth as he's made out to be. He's got a good voice, but very dislikeable for some reason.

You've gotta understand the pressure they must be under to deliver ..... just try to put yourself in thier position for a moment .... And as for looking surprised when he got put through ....... I'd he'd looked all cocky "as if he he knew he was going through" ... how would that have looked ?? ...... Very presumtious ..... and the public wouldn't like that ... now would they ???

I can't stand him, yes he can sing but he is very sure of his self, I don't like his personality, or lack of it. He just irrates me and there are far better singers there then him, who you just know will go early and he will sail through on the teenage girls and little girls vote.

I find him one of the best boy singers we have ever had, tbh. I cannot like him at all though.

They're all under pressure. I don't see much others bursting into tears at every opportunity. Austin has been on TV plenty of times before. I don't believe he's as nervous as he makes out to be, and in actual fact I think he's quite the opposite. Watching him on that stupid TV sketch about "boys being girls" gives me the impression that he's quite smug and think's he's the bees knees. He KNOWS he's good looking. He KNOWS he can sing. He KNOWS girls will vote for him. He's been on TV plenty of times before. Why does he persist in crying all the time? To get more votes.

Fame whore. But he has got a great voice and I think he'll do well on the show. I just can't warm to him as a person.

I don't like him much either, but try not judge too much on what we are shown of the contestants.
That said, I find it hard not to be turned off by the tears and sob stories, and the acts with none tend to get kudos points in my book.

He could just deliver the song and be done with it, surely. I blame all the oestrogens in the water, boys/men are SO emotional these days!

a kid of 14/15/16 I can see bursting into tears for no more reason than hormonal puberty and yet in the main they manage to control themselves until crying seems appropriate.

I get the feeling with Austin he would burst into tears if the bus was late

I think one thing that put me off was him saying that he wanted this more than anyone else. A very self centred thing to say.

And yeah, I think Austin cries at everything. Not just some things...all things.

Personally I think he is one of the best male singers ever to appear on the show and I will be voting for him if he gets through tonight. Btw, I'm no teenage girl, I'm a mother to one!!!

I'm a huge fan of Austin, but that realy made me laugh!!

In literally every shot he's crying. I like Alex but she annoyed me with the tears too but they stopped last night but Austin seems to have some sort of on-going problem with them.

He is trying to get the female vote, the best way to get that is by crying and getting them to go ARGHHHHHHH! I think most people see through it thought and realise he is not a vulnerable as he makes him self-out to be, and I highly doubt he has a confidence problem.

When you look at someone such as that poor bloke who has lost his wife and he is just so happy to be there. Do we see him blubbering all over the place - NO! He is just getting on with it and grabbing he opportunity with both hands.

Austin gets right on my nerves - have a bit of bloody dignity man!

Perhaps he has a rare affliction that causes him to burst into tears whenever he is about to sing (cantorlachrymositis) and he hasn't talked about it at all but just gets on with it regardless- brave little bunny.
