I love Brucie, the show won't be the same without him, whenever he decides he does not want to continue.

I thought he was heaps better last night than last week. I wish he'd stop with all this 'I'm not doderry' nonsense. The show is Strictly Come Dancing not Strictly Come Defending. As for Tess, I think she's a lot better this year - I've been looking out for elements of 'cold' in her after Nicoles comments but even when the camera unexpectedly cut to her yesterday she was talking to the contestants.

Bruce and Tess all the way!!! It will be a sad day for Strictly when Bruce stops presenting( for whatever reason)

As for the Jo Brand jibe, maybe the scriptwriters have been reading this SCD forum as there was mention of the resemblance between the two on these very pages.

Graham Norton..Oh please BEEB don't inflict him on SCD fans keep him for the West End Talent Spotter shows

I find both Bruce and Tess embarrassing......Bruce coz he is not funny anymore and Tess coz she just doesnt connect with the celebs, its always very laboured. I though with her comment to Flavia about her and Matt on the final was the limit. That was awful.

Time for a change.........

As for Tess and her Princess Di coy looks through her fringe and posy pouting... Enough! When she said her bit about 'read my blog' last night nearly choked on my tea! Didn't you mean to say 'read the blog posting someone wrote then put my name on'?

New hosts please. I vote Anton and Claudia.”

National treasures belong in the Tower of London and are let out on special occasions. A guest appearance in the final might be fitting for example. I wonder if Tess is inhibited by Bruce and would really shine with a new presenter? The question then would be whom? Jeremy Clarkson? Gordon Ramsay (after 9pm of course)? Prince Phillip? Or more sensible options like Alan Titchmarsh or Trevor McDonald ?

I love Brucie, he is funny

It could be worse - it could be Jim Davidson taking over like the Generation Game. Then he'd have John Virgo doing a trick dance.

2009 won't come fast enough when Bruce Forsyth finally (hopefully) retires from SCD.

It's not harsh really, is it ? T&C's ask for a search to be made before posting to avoid duplicates. Brucie is a hot topic at the moment, so there is always a 'Brucie should go' type thread on the first page. A quick look - doesn't take long.

I agree that there are lots of Appreciation threads, but there are nearly as many 'Brucie should go' threads. The number of threads aabout him re getting as tedious as his jokes, TBH

And if we had to have a new thread every time one of his jokes missed the mark, we'd be over-run

I do like Bruce Forsyth but hate to admit I hate the way he sometimes obviously struggles reading his lines.

I much prefer the presenter of the US verison DWTS, Tom Bergeron only because he's much more "fluent". I detest his sidekick, Samantha Harris and quite like our Tess.

Brucie can stay so far as I'm concerned. If he left we could be faced with the prospect of Tess's husband taking over . I don't go a bundle on Tess but that's just me.

If that day comes I'm throwing the TV out of the window and handing back my licence !

Everyone likes different things LOL! For me Tom and Samantha have got no spark at all and I just turn off when they are talking.

I don't find it embarrassing.

Bruce and Tess are part of the SCD tradition and are clearly still popular with plenty of viewers.

You can't please everybody, but that would be the same even if Bruce or Tess did leave the show.”

Personally I cant be bothered with either of them. They certainly don't earn the vast amount of money that they get paid. I record it and flick past both Bruce and Tess and just watch the dancers and listen to the judges remarks. That makes much better viewing for mehttp://images.digitalspy.co.uk/forum/smilies/smile.gif

Yes, these Bruce Forsythe hate threads are getting very boring now - can't posters come up with something different or do they just want to see their name in lights?

To all the Brucie fans remember this. About 9 million people watch Strictly Come Dancing, its one of the most popular TV series on our TV screen for a long time, and that's not just because of the dancing. Its because of everything else, including Bruce Forsyth. He's one of our most popular entertainers and a clean, decent, warm, kind, funny man. I think the comments about his age are offensive and cruel - this man, as does everyone in their 80's, have a right to be on TV as much as people half his age. It's also very ageist and wrong. If posters criticised someone for their skin colour they would be rightly accused of racism, so nobody should knock someone for their age. He knocks spots off the younger, crude, presenters who are currently around these days.

His jokes can be dreadful, and thats what makes them so funny. Its nothing to do with his age - he's always been like that. His warmth and humour are part of the show and that's why 9 million tune in every time - not just to see the dancing but to see Brucie too. The BBC wouldn't ask him back to present the show every year if he wasn't so popular.

About 100 people complain about him on here - a small handful compared to the millions who watch and love him.

What I can't understand is why don't more people complain about Tess Daly? I like her but I could understand if people didn't. I think the reason they don't complain about her is because she's young and quite glamourous, and that it seems is enough to get by in this day and age.

So, cut out the cruel, personal attacks on Brucie and try and focus on the positive. There's only a small handful of you on this board who criticise him but there are millions away from this board who love him.

The reason I abandoned BBC chat board is because o the negativity and extremely rude comments towards Bruce, Tess and every single dancers and celebrities. It's such a shame they've immigrated to this forum.

So that's where the dramatic increase in down right nastiness this season has come from.

Whilst I agree his jokes are cringeworthy, and I wish he would keep away from the 'funny' lines, I still think he does a great job.

He was also condemned for saying Jelly Wallace, when trying to say Jessie Wallace, well, I'm nearly 50 years younger than Bruce & I am always saying words using letters from the next one (if you see what I mean), it's a very easy mistake to make and is not down to his age.

It is a live show, and there are not that many presenters that could cope so well at any age, never mind at nearly 81. I would like him to continue (Tess, I'm not really bothered about), but do think that his jokes should go - if time needs to be filled as the couples get backstage, then an interesting fact about the dance or a judges comment on an element of the dance, or a detail about the music or just anything that is not a joke.

I think if the jokes went, people would see what a great presenter he is

His problem (& what makes him most irritating) is that he just can't help himself trying to make the show about him!!!

I saw a clip where Forsyth took his shoe off & showing his foot & how it's arched showing off that it's what proves that someone is a real dancer!

Cmon was that really necessary....NO of course not....just him being big headed....it's all about him!!

Anyway isn't he retiring next year......I bloody hope so!!!

My vote for male would probably go to Alexander Armstrong, I know it is a totally different programme but he is very good on Have I Got News For You. He just seems very natural in front of the camera and is not too young - I would not like the Beeb to go down the 'hip and cool' route we might end up with Dick & Dom!

For a female presenter somebody like Liza Tarbuck would be watchable I think, she seems ok and is quickwitted, she worked well with Johnny Vaughan on the big breakfast, Johnny Vaughan annoys me now though.

Yes but you are not a TV presenter on thousands of pounds per show. We should expect a better standard from highly paid media presenters than the ordinary person in the street.

I think there should be more people of advancing years on the TV. They ahve their own personalities and are far more professional than the new presenters. If there is a problem, they just get by. I think it is important for the younger generation to see older people on the TV.
