Transient fame though would you agree?

If someone mentions James Martin, what do you think first - chef or SCD contestant?

Colin Jackson - runner up in SCD or World Record holder in the hurdles?

Denise Lewis is still best remembered as an Olympic gold medallist than as runner up in SCD.

Even if Gary had gone all the way and won - it's as a chef with related activities that he'll make his living; not a dancing contestant.

Gary deserved to go. He's used to bossing around in his kitchen and he clearly didn't take too kindly to being told what to do - result? He was voted out. Andrew Castle was truly terrible, too. Smary presenter on breakfast tv and pretty lousy tennis player, he clearly likes to be master of the universe, too. He really must be the next man to go. He reminds me of Jeremy (sick) Kyle!

It was easy to see from their first meeting that there was no love lost between Karen and Gary, but no harm in that, we can't expect to click with everyone. All the women Pro's are hard taskmasters apart from Flavia and maybe Kristina, so I doubt he would have performed any better if he had been partnered with anyone else, because he was not willing to put in the hours.

Without trying to be too harsh to Gary, I don't believe he would have improved, if he'd gone further in the competition. Even if you can't dance at all it is something that can be learned. His major problem was that he had no sense of rythm or timing which is crucial to dance. He did not understand or sense where the beat was. He also over analysed every step which stopped him from progressing and actually enjoying the dance.
I felt so sorry for Karen, I sensed right from the start that they would have problems. The body language on the first show when they came down the stairs said to me that Gary may be difficult to teach. I guess because he is a self confessed "perfectionist" and the roles now reversed, meant that he had to learn and try to master something. Karen was an absolute professional throughout and I really felt she tried her hardest to help him to dance but he just doesn't have it in him.

Byassing all the comments about the amount of hours he put in etc, his dancing was absolutely dreadful. Did anyone watch it ? I'm no fan of Karen but felt quite sorry for her dancing around Gary and not knowing where he was going to be - half of her moves seemed to be improvised.

Justice was served for once.
