Hmmm it's weird, I would have picked the opposite 3 to the 3 Simon picked, but what do I know?!

I hink Cheryl has the winner in her category anyway though so I guess it's irrelevant.

I hope that Mali and Liam will come back next year.

I liked Alan, & he even had an Emmerdale name.

Totally agree. Mali's performance on XTra Factor yesterday was terrific. I can only assume he went wrong by behaving in a mature way and not weeping all the time..........

The boys are definitely the weaker category this year, not a star amongst them. I liked Mali but he is certainly not ready to compete to be the winner.

I am sure there were better boys during the earlier audition stages than the motley bunch we were left with in the "top" six.

The constant crying did make me laugh though. Interesting that youngest contestant Liam walked away probably with the most dignity of all of them, including the "overs".

He wasn't. Rikki who had been told he was through to the last 6 was then told he wasn't because they had changed their mind about another contestant.

I did like Liam and I thought Mali was exceptional for his age but Simon went for the no-hopers because despite having the all round weakest category he thinks he has the winner in Austin.

Have to say I did find it strange that the youngest contestants seemed to take rejection in a far more mature manner than some of the older ones.

Mali isn't ready for this yet - he's too young and I suspect, deep down, he knew that.

Give him a few more years to develop and he could be huge, but my advice would be to try to do it without the X Factor.

If that DS article is correct, Rikki was not told he was through to the last 6 he was in the line-up that was going to be the 6 and was then removed from that line-up and replaced with Liam before the line-up got told they were through.

I'm sure Simon, as with all of the judges, went with the three he felt would do best with the public. I don't understand why he went for Eugohn and Scott based on what I heard of their performances but he did say that their last performances were not as good as he had previously heard from them so I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt until I hear a complete performance from these guys.

Austin is really the only consistantly good singer he had (though his constant tears have really made me hate him). Mali was good but the other 4 had very average voices.

I loved Mali - but I am really glad he didn't get through. I would love see him make it on his own in a few years time and not be branded by the X-factor name. Too many good singers have gone onto that show and then disappeared into the abiss after being asked to sing bloomin' Abba or Queen or disco, when they are clearly a jazz/soul or indie singer. Seriously, as much as I love the X-factor, it can ruin some good singer's reputation.

I agree, Austin is a great singer and Eugohn is going to be so popular with the mums as well as the teenage girls (from a Mummy's point of view)

I hope now Austin has got through he'll stop spluttering and show a bit more personality.
