I would have preferred Suzie over both Daniel and Rachel. Sob stories don't get my vote now.

The reason his 'sob story' is mentioned at all is because when they edit the show they know who is going through to the final 24/12. They wouldn't mention it half as much otherwise. And to be fair, they shouln't call it mixed if it was all females, but i dont think Rachel was that good, so maybe she shouldnt have been in the final 12, and her 'sob story' is worse the Daniel's, and she screwed up her song anyway.
And sorry to rant on, but you shouldn't have an opinion on someone by just their sob story because you can't judge someone unless you've been in their shoes.

I think rachel messed up in danniis house but she has massive potential to do well

TBH I thought James was the better male singer out of him and Daniel. Daniel's too cabaret for me - he's the sort of singer you'd expect to pop up on a cruise.

I think Rachel's a massive risk considering she forgot the lyrics twice, at a less stressful stage than the live shows. She could seriously muck up, and her attitude will not go down well with the public.

I'd have put through Susie and James instead of Rachel and Daniel.

Let's face it, we all knew from the start that rachel was going to be the chosen one. She has a story and Simon liked her.

After she messed up I think someone else should have gone through....but no!

Mistake=picking rachel for ratings. She will do the predictable things her sort do , wich will likely include boring tantrums and pity-me drama fests, and not include working much to improve her current good but not great vocals, and it will draw ratings. Then she will be dropped when her irritating-ness outways her usefulness to the show.
Susie, who has as good a voice, would have just worked hard and turned in good performances. Unfortunately for her, Cheryls category already has 3 stronger singers who can do that.

Picking Rachel instead of Susie - big mistake

Susie might be back in time for the first live show if the rumours about Rachels drug taking at boot camp are true.

Daniel is cannon fodder, out in either week 1 or 2, he hasnt got a strong enough voice

Amy Connelly should have been in the top 3 but it was too close to call as it was a strong line up for once.

Daniel is so much more likeable than Suzie. She's got an average voice, no charisma, no star quality and nothing that draws you to her.

Dannii made the right choice in my opinion.

Guys, you have to remember how much input the judges have on these decisions. It's not just the judges who get to decide. And Daniel has a much better story!

This is what happens when people as talent free as Dannii Minogue and Baby Spice are allowed to judge others.

I agree, I really think Danii made the wrong decision. Daniel will probably get far as the public like him, but he is such an average singer.

James was one of the weakest of the last 24 but that's not saying much as so were Eoghan and Scott.

She doesn't have likeability. She has already been in a band that has now got back together an she had the chance to go back to it but chose not to. She has been working as a backing singer since the band broke up and despite many high profile appearances has not been spotted. Reason: she lacks that certain something. Dannii was right to not put her through and in my opinion she shouldn't even have been put through to the last 6.

As far as I can see Rachel has only given one "good" performance and that was her first audition. She has managed to mess up the others and has got through on her back story and apparent "raw talent". Personally I find her voice far too harsh and can't bear the attitude that goes with it.

Daniel? Nice guy but yes, only there because of the sob story. 100% pub/cabaret singer.

The only "Over" I like now is Ruth ... but the "I am Spanish" sob story hopefully was a one off as I'm not aware of a major struggle for acceptance from Spanish people in London being something you need to overcome!

I loved Suzie's voice but don't really think she had anything special to mark her out from anybody else.

That leaves the golfer who was dire and Louise who was totally out of her depth and not strong enough.

Pretty week.

Worst of all I thought was Anastasia in the girls' group though, terrible terrible vocals.

I was moved to tears by Daniels's story, but Danni let her heart rule her head

Suzi should have made the final 3, she is a much better singer.

Rachel deserved her place on her singing ability, but I fear her attitude will be her downfall.

I agree with this, but we're kidding ourselves if we don't think that all the judges, esp. SC, have a say in who goes through.

Therefore it doesn't matter how well Suzie sang (IMO the best of that bunch) at the house.

She was hideous. Horrible voice. How on earth did she get that far?

I don't like Ruth much either. She has a similar Kermity voice to Shakira.

Feel sorry for Suzie as she should have got to the final 12.

Rachel has a good voice but I'm not sure she won't end up more trouble than she's worth for Danni, and will therefore not be popular with the public. I suppose she might realise she has to tow the line and take the chance she has been given.....time will tell!

I think Ruth is good but I can't help thinking we might get to week 2 or 3 and Simon will be saying 'the singing in Spanish is getting a bit played out now....'. Hope she does well though.
”

Yeah I find the whole Spanish thing quite interesting - I clearly remeber a guy in the audition stages who sang in Hindi and Simon saying something like 'how can I judge if you can sing or not if I can't understand a word you're saying'. I thought that was a bit weird because I think I can telll if someone is singing well even if I dont understand them - what about Opera and stuff? And he has conveniently forgotten his own statement when it comes to Ruth, seems a bit hypocritical!

Yeah I agree, think Rachel is not worth the effort, liked her first audition and that was it!

when you've got an irish kid,a black single mother ex junkie and a bizarre singing style spanish girl in the final-it smells of slightly "pc"demographic judging. As Simon Cowell is the big boss,im sure he "guides" the judges wiht his opinions on who they should pick.
He is "primarily" interested in tv ratings and sadly a few sob story singers and slightly unpredictable contestants will make for better TV,often at the expense of better vocalists.

i like Austins voice ,but im getting totally sick of these so called "grown men" bursting into tears at every opportunity.
Let us hope that the whole of Ireland dont vote for their "boy" the way the scottish did for Michelle McManus.
One thing is for sure-Suzy should have got in he final 12-she had it all and possibly been a slightly less successful Leona Lewis type singer if she had won the final

I really liked Daniel and he's one of my favorites. I'm glad he got through. I liked how on the first show he was on it went from his sob story of his wife dying to a woman whose sob story was that she had a sore throat.

I agree! But Daniel had the sob story (Don't mean to sound too cynical) that can pull at the heart strings and thus pull in the votes.

Suzie was the better singer, looks better and has more chance of being taken seriously post-X-factor.

Daniel's just a fairly competent singer IMO, nothing more. He certainly doesn't have any Wow or X-factor.
