Can I say 'me me me me me!' please?

Some proper tango music is always welcome. Loved the tracks Hayley and Kristina chose too. Ola must have had a mad moment...

Actually I was surprised at how well the music suited the Tango. What let them down was Andrew is still very much a beginner (oh and that silly head-banging). I'm sure if two professionals had danced to the song it would have been stunning.

Oh it wasn't as bad as some in the past ('Pretty Woman' anyone?) but I still think it paled in comparison to the more suitable music. It just adds that much more atmosphere.

It was also used in the film Kinky Boots

Great music, great routine from Lilia, too.

That was a fab choice of music, didn't like black and gold being used tho, jives remind me of elton john, happy songs that was rather dark

Who chooses the music for the routines?

I see that most people assume the pro dances choose the music. Are theygiven a list to choose from or do they have a flash of lightning moment about it? (Serious question, as I really did not know.)

It must all be done months in advance.

from what I can gather the pros choose their own songs and it is done months in advance - Darren has mentioned on more than one occassion that they do sometimes struggle to get songs as the series roll on

Danny Tidwell and Sara von Gillern danced an Argentine Tango to it on season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance as well

What Lola Wants was absolutely perfect for that tango.

The pros choose but the producers have the right to veto the song choice. It's normally done waaay in advance (so don't believe any "oh...I heard this song and I thought it would suit you" stories)

was REALLY REALLY thrilled to see the Gotan Project being used - absolutely fantastic - love their whole ethos - and so appropriate for the tango - thought Don and Lilia truly danced it well.

Yup. Written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, and originally sung by Gwen Verdon.

Thank's for all the replies and yes if you could pm me the link Olive I would be very grateful. I was in Mexico almost 2 yrs ago and heard this track. Couldn't get it out of my head at the time and then heard it again on SCD and thought I just have to find out what this is!
